<sigh>:
Yesterday, Barack Obama announced that the United States would be removing Cuba from the U.S. State Sponsors of Terror list as part of his push to normalize relations with the communist dictatorship. But just hours later, a terror group long fostered by Cuba — even today, the Castro brothers are harboring several wanted members of the group — murdered 10 Colombian soldiers and wounded 17 others in a terror attack on a military base.
Ongoing SOP operations, heedless of The One's foolish gesture, or a deliberate humiliation meant to rub Red Barry's nose in said foolishness? Probably some of both. I report, you decide.
But again, is it foolishness, or is it switching sides? This link from 2008 provides some telling insight (h/t VH):
Admittedly, it pales compared with other material from the dead thug's computer - such as FARC efforts to obtain uranium or Hugo Chavez's $300 million support.
But the little Obama reference within the fifteen FARC letters released by the Colombian government signals a disturbing pattern of contacts with rogue actors. It's not the first time, and Obama has yet to distance himself.
In a February 28th [2008] letter, FARC chieftain Raul Reyes cheerily reported to his inner circle that he met "two gringos" who assured him "the new president of their country will be Obama and that they are interested in your compatriots. Obama will not support 'Plan Colombia' nor will he sign the TLC (Free Trade Agreement)." [emphasis added]
I know that even today, the vast majority of Americans, including conservative pundits who should know better and have the balls to say so, still think of Barack Obama as an American president as opposed to the real-life Manchurian Candidate he really is. But look at his Islamocommunist, Alinskyite, Chicago communizing background, then his six-plus year track record of comprehensive leftwing radicalism, and ask yourself if it's really that difficult to believe that The One is a loyal and steadfast ally of the Castro Brothers and a dedicated, avowed enemy of the United States and the West. Sure looks like a no-brainer to me.
