Another compare and contrast for you on this fine, sunny, warm Thursday morning that will have you vomiting up your breakfast in mere moments.
First up, would you believe that the Obama Regime "responsibly ended [i.e. lost] two wars"? That's what National Security Liar Susan Rice was selling Tuesday evening to American veterans frustrated and angry over the needless and pointless loss of Ramadi:
Even before National Security Advisor Susan Rice started speaking Tuesday night, at a poignant German Embassy photography exhibit of soldiers wounded in combat, U.S. vets there who had served in Iraq were privately fuming over the fall of Ramadi — and how it could have been allowed to happen.
Rice further stoked their frustration. “Now that we have ended two wars responsibly, and brought home [thousands] of American troops, we salute this new generation of veterans,” Rice told the audience of about one hundred fifty people who were seated between the hauntingly beautiful mural-sized portraits of severely disabled veterans.
Such a description of the U.S. military departure from Iraq in 2011 — when American forces left after failing to negotiate a security agreement to stay — raised eyebrows across the crowd that included active duty and former troops and officers, among them at least two generals and former Joint Chiefs Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen. “Responsibly, right?” one retired Army officer said sarcastically to FP’s Lara Jakes afterward.
Miss Rice clearly got her speeches mixed up. That one should have been delivered to a Code Pink gathering. Either that or this is just more "in your face/extended middle fingers/victory lap/end zone celebration" taunting of the Obama Regime's true enemies. That's certainly how the assembled audience took it.
Captain Ed makes a very salient point about Miss Rice's choice of words: What O "ended" was American participation in the Afghan and Iraqi fronts of the War Against Islamic Fundamentalism. He quit Iraq and Afghanistan. Surrendered. Withdrew. Betrayed and abandoned everybody there who trusted and sided with us. Both of those wars are still ongoing, quite obviously, with our enemies now rampaging to victory unopposed, ISIS overrunning Iraq and on the doorstep of Baghdad as well as spreading into Afghanistan to overwhelm even the Taliban. So "we" haven't "ended" a damn thing. And ask all the Christians and other religious minorities cleansed from Iraq and Syria if it was done "responsibly" - those that are still alive, that is.
If Miss Rice meant that the Obama Regime is secondarily responsible for that ongoing genocide, then she might actually have been both close to the target and to "owning" the unspeakable disasters her perfidious devilspawn of a boss has propagated. But somehow I doubt that.
Why do I say that? Because the Obama Regime is merrily arguing that the current war in Iraq - which, remember, The One "ended responsibly," and which he is simultaneously deliberately losing - is "an overall success".
No, I'm not kidding:
[White House Goebbels clone Josh Ernest] added, “We have seen a lot of success. But we’ve also seen significant periods of setback.”
No kidding. The loss of Ramadi. The loss of Mosul. The loss of Falluja, each of which required significant investments of American treasure and lives to capture in the first place. Poof. Lost, just like that.
We have no way of knowing what kind of glue this White House staff is sniffing. But they’re taking something powerful to so seriously distort their thinking. They talk of the ebb and flow of protracted battle. This one has been mostly ebb. …

The D.C. media have been consumed in recent weeks re-litigating the Iraq war by getting every prominent Republican on record on what he or she might or might not have done had they been president twelve years ago and known or not known about Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction.

Andy, Andy, Andy - you know that won't accomplish anything. Because this is not about the truth; it's about the Narrative. It's about the Party Line. And the Narrative and Party Line is that Barack Obama "heroically and responsibly ended" two "disastrous" "wars of aggression" that his GOP predecessor "criminally and warmongeringly" started, and EVERYBODY is better off for his having done so. Don't believe your lying eyes, facts are irrelevant, and anybody who doesn't bow the knee to "socialist reality" is a deranged, mass-murdering war criminal who will be "taken into custody" for "mental examination" and "treatment".
Which brings us to yesterday and his infernal majesty's commencement rant at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, where Red Barry once again declared war on the "real enemy" - capitalism - under the guise of "climate change":
Speaking Wednesday to a group of graduating Coast Guardsmen, President Barack Obama said climate change would shape their entire careers because it poses "an immediate risk to our national security."
Obama said the "science is indisputable" that climate change is happening. The best scientists in the world, analysts in the intelligence community, military leaders and the Coast Guard know it's happening.
"The fossil fuels we burn release carbon dioxide, which traps heat. And the levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere are now higher than they have been in 800,000 years. The planet is getting warmer. Fourteen of the 15 hottest years on record have been in the past 15 years. Last year was the planet's warmest year ever recorded," he said from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London.
Obama said that refusing to act to slow the affects of climate change constitutes a "dereliction of duty."
O doesn't seem to be eager or in any great hurry to "responsibly end" this "war," does he?
It is, of course, lunatic doggerel. Madness. Delusional tripe. A blatant lie. There is no global warming - we're heading toward another "little ice age", for heaven's sake - and none of it, not one single solitary fraction of a degree change in global temperatures, is the result of the mere existence of modern technological human civilization. There is no "national security threat" from "climate change," imminent or long-term. There is only what the local star can do to us, and we are utterly helpless against that "enemy".
But this is not about the truth; it's about the Narrative. It's about the Party Line. And the Narrative and Party Line is that we - meaning not the ruling elites, but the rest of us lumpenproletarians - must be immediately herded back centuries technologically toward renewed poverty, pestilence, filth, primitivism, and pagan superstition, or WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!! That is what the word "imminent" means. And the mode of this "war" against "climate change"? Destroy capitalism. Or whatever's left of it after the war King Hussein has already been waging against it for the past six and a half years. Only by surrendering whatever tattered remnants of our liberty and living standards remain will We, The People, be "saved".
I did say it was mad, delusional, lunatic doggerel. But, as I vowed two and half years ago to never let them forget, this is what sixty-two million Americans twice voted for. If any of y'all now suffer from any degree of buyer's remorse, the scales were terminally tardy falling from your blind eyes.
