A Government of Deception

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Sometimes, in government, secrecy is necessary.  But, at what point does secrecy become deception?

The federal government has a lot of motives to not tell us what they are up to, and more often than not, none of them are good.

Perception is everything, and that perception must be protected, even if by lies, and massive deception.

When the government hides things, so does its minions.

When the government is deceptive, so is its parts.

Eventually, the game of deception becomes so normal in the everyday operations of a government that the cogs in the machine treat deception as just another task.  They become above the law, and above suspicion. . . in their own minds.  Because of this, the kinds of deception they are willing to partake in reach a point of ridiculousness.  It becomes obvious what they are doing, but because they've been doing it for so long, nobody questions it. . . and when someone does question it, that person is labeled a radical, subversive, extremist and potential enemy of the State.

This is why we are beginning to see absolutely obvious cases of deception that border on the laughable, and the media ignores it, and the voters could care less.  We've been trained that this is business as usual, or that it just doesn't matter.  Why rock the boat?  Why challenge the ruling elite?  There's nothing you can do about it, right?
