The fallout from the Charleston shooting is as anything is with the liberal left. They seek to find something to blame for the happening, and then use it for their political agenda. In this case, racism, America's history of slavery, and the confederate flag are being listed as the blame. If only we can get rid of all guns, and all signs of our racist history, we will move beyond all of this, we are being told.
Never mind that the first black president was supposed to move us into a post-racial era, and as a result of his liberal policies we are more racially divided than we have been in recent history.
There are calls for a nationwide ban of anything associated with the confederate south, or anything that might remind folks of slavery. A stature of Robert E. Lee has been targeted. Stone Mountain in Georgia is being considered for destruction. Thomas Jefferson was a slave owner, and despite the evidence that he was a abolitionist that called for the end of slavery in numerous writings, he is being targeted with a demand for the removal of memorials of him, as well as his image on our money. Anything else that may be related to the old south or slavery is being called for to be removed from the public eye. We have become like rabid wolves lashing out without thinking any of this throug. As far as the left is concerned, America's history is a racist one, as is anyone who dares to try and defend the History of the United States. Therefore, all traces of America's unacceptable history must be erased from view.
Never mind that Americans were willing to die to abolish slavery by the hundreds of thousands, or that it was the hated racist republicans (their words, not mine) that were the ones that abolished slavery, authored the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and sees all Americans as Americans, rather than separating American's into bitter groups, and then pandering to those groups, or working to keep blacks dependent upon the government, as we see constantly from the Democrat Party.
With all of this screaming and yelling about banning any sign of our history that might remind us that slavery once existed in America, we must also remember one more thing.
We must remember, after we see this list of historical things that the liberal left is seeking to ban, there is an old and wise saying that we should all make sure we take heed of: "Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it."
