OPM Chief Blames "Cyber Pearl Harbor" On....Nobody

by JASmius

Who, according to the Obama Regime, is responsible for this intelligence cataclysm?  Ordinarily it would have been the Republicans, but evidently even they don't think they can put over that big of a whopper, so they're hanging the blame on....nobody:

The federal personnel chief said Tuesday that she does not believe “anyone is personally responsible” for the massive hack of federal employee data and security clearance files and instead blamed the breach on old computer systems and the hackers themselves.

i.e. On George W. Bush and our Chinese Communist "friends".  The latter of which is surprising and another indicator of how disastrous this cyberbreach really is.

“We have legacy systems that are very old,” Katherine Archuleta, director of the Office of Personnel Management, told Senate lawmakers at a hearing on the intrusion. “It’s an enterprise-wide problem. I don’t believe anyone is personally responsible.”

Awfully convenient for her and her staff, isn't it?

She then told Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS), who pressed her repeatedly to take responsibility for failing to shore up the agency’s computer security, that the attackers are the ones to blame.

“If there’s anyone to blame, it’s the perpetrators,” Archuleta said. “Their concentrated, very well-funded efforts to come into our system are what we’re concerned about.”

Isn't interesting how when it's in their interests to grasp onto individual responsibility for a criminal act to protect their own asses, Obamunists will do so in a heartbeat, but when an individual of the "wrong tribe" commits a heinous act - like shooting up a black church - they spread collective guilt feces all over every last member of their politocultural opposition?

Yes, of course, the ChiComm hackers are responsible for their actions; nobody's disputing that, as the White House very well knows.  But OPM had a fiduciary responsibility to protect that confidental personnel information and kept it safe and secure just such cyberattacks.  And Miss Archuleta, as head of OPM, had an additional responsibility in her leadership capacity, to accept responsibility for the debacle that happened on her watch.

But no.  Obamunists never take responsibility for anything, and even they couldn't convincingly blame the GOP for the "Pearl Harbor of cyberattacks," so everybody's off the hook except the hackers who were given a red carpet on which to waltz in and cyberplunder.

It redefines the term "inspiring," I tell ya,

UPDATE: How unconvincing was Miss Archuleta?  Not a single senator wasn't scoffing at her flailing handwaving.  Something tells me she's reached the end of her particular career track.
