I can see the headlines now: "The Republicans are going to nominate a Hell's Angel!!!" And, "Where was Scott Walker about three weeks ago?"
At least the Wisconsin Governor faces the right way on his Harley and doesn't use the reverse gear:
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker declared to Iowa Republicans on Saturday that "it's time in America that we start leading, not just here but around the world."
"We need a president who will stand up and tell the American people what may be hard to say: that this threat is not the threat that we faced in the Cold War, where containment's enough," Walker said on destroying the Islamic State at the inaugural "Roast & Ride" event sponsored by Iowa Senator Joni Ernst in Boone.
“This is like a virus — and if we don’t take it out, we're in trouble,” Walker said.
“I don’t believe in open-ended engagements, but I believe we need a president who will say that, 'This not going to take a day, a month, or a year — but I, on behalf of your children and mine, would rather take the fight to them instead of waiting for them to bring the fight to us.
“We need to lead from the front again in America,” he said.
Four things come instantly to my mind from this quote: (1) Scott Walker is fifty-seven different kinds of awesome; (2) Scott Walker has just stolen Lindsey Graham's thunder, so he might as well drop out of the race now and save himself a lot of time, effort, and warchest money; (3) only after six and a half years of Barack Obama could the phrase "We need to lead from the front again" be seen as a rallying cry and not a sign of early Altzheimers or mental retardation; and (4) after almost a decade of this.....
....wouldn't it be a refreshing change (like breathing again after reaching the other side of the Atlantic by walking along the bottom) to have a biker POTUS?
I think I'm going to have to update my Scott Walker update theme to Bad To The Bone.
