Obama: "We'll Fight The 'State,' But Not The 'Islamic'"

by JASmius

Or, in so many words, Barack Obama still doesn't have a strategy for defeating ISIS:

Barack Obama on Monday outlined his administration's policy to "degrade and ultimately destroy" the Islamic State (known as ISIS).

"To the American people, I want to say we will continue to be vigilant. And we will ultimately prevail," Obama told the media following a meeting with Pentagon commanders.

That's nice, Barry.  But how?

But, he warned, " This will not be quick. This is a long-term campaign. ISIS is opportunistic and is nimble."

So they're not the "jayvee team" anymore?  But even now, why can't it be quick?  It could be if we re-invaded Iraq and rolled the tanks into Syria as well, like your predecessor did twelve years ago.  But I guess if you rule out actual fighting from a military campaign, it can't help but be "long-term," can it?  Or as long as it takes ISIS to overrun the whole planet, anyway.

Obama said the additional actions he ordered a month ago have been successful and have robbed ISIS of about one-fourth of the territory it has taken in Iraq and Syria over the past two years.

What about the territory they took in Libya?  Yemen?  Sinai?  Afghanistan?  West Africa?  Or just across our former southern border?

"This is a reminder that ISIS's strategic weaknesses are real," Obama said, noting that the group is surrounded by enemies and has no air power. It's main weapon, he said, is fear.

And their having weapons of mass destruction, a global tactical reach, and having you as their clandestine patron and arms supplier.

But here again is why the United States will never defeat ISIS while Barack Obama remains POTUS:

"We'll constantly reaffirm through words and deeds we will never be at war with Islam," Obama said. "We're fighting terrorists who distort Islam and whose victims are mostly Muslims." [emphasis added]

No, Barry, we're fighting jihadists who embody and personify Islam and its demonic doctrines and teachings.  Which is why Islam is most definitely at war with us, and always will be until such a time as either they destroy us or we destroy them.

And if "we will never be at war with Islam," that seems to settle that ultimate outcome question,

You could almost call it O's ISIS strategy.
