The Wages Of Closing Gitmo

by JASmius

Ultimately, mass American death, but after Barack Obama leaves office (assuming he ever does) when it will be somebody else's fault.

But this story is part of how the Global Jihad reaches that "glorious" endgame:

Two former detainees at the Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba were arrested by Belgian police in a counterterrorism operation targeting a recruiting network for al Qaeda in Syria.

They were arrested Wednesday night along with three others as they were about to break into a house to raise funds in the town of Hoboken, near Antwerp, a senior Belgian counterterrorism official told CNN.

The "official" Gitmo recidivism rate is approximately 30%.  Which is another way of saying that that's what the Obama Regime admits to, while the real recidivism rate is vastly higher, and most likely unanimous, or ex-"detainees" would never have wound up at Gitmo in the first place.

BTW, one of these two jihadists, Moussa Zemouri, who was released in 2005 (so this one's on Bush43), subsequently wrote a book entitled Innocent at Guantanamo in which he insisted that he wasn't a jihadist, never had been a jihadist, never would be a jihadist, and he was typical of every last unjustly incarcerated Muslim Fundamentalist at Camp X-Ray.  The anti-U.S. American Left venerated him as a hero.  And I have no doubt they'll keep him in their pantheon BECAUSE of his al Qaeda recruiting efforts, because after all, he's a member of the "right tribe".

And yet the White House keeps banging those same drums:

Hell, O is only five and a half years behind schedule in this particular ironclad promise to the anti-U.S. American Left (because he wanted to get reelected in 2012) but as long as he gets it done before he leaves office (assuming he ever does), they won't care.

The optics of these two adjoining stories are....not good.  How not good?  Even CNN felt compelled to notice it:

"Every time we step closer to closing Gitmo, there's a risk to that".  Yeah - a wholly unnecessary risk that's going to get countless more Americans killed.  About which Barack Obama either couldn't care less or to which he actively and enthusiastically aspires.  Blind guide zealot or jihadist sympathizer - most likely both - King Hussein is going to empty and close Gitmo before he put-puts his golf cart into the Kenyan sunset (if he ever does), by hook or by crook, one way or the other.  And it will all be his successor's fault (if there ever is one).

And if he never leaves, it'll be George W. Bush's fault.  Just like everything else.
