Business As Usual In Tehran

by JASmius

If you were haplessly naive, you'd think that a dozen years of diplomatically running in circles would change a regime just through sheer erosion of endurance, wouldn't you?  Cause it to look wearily at the little country to which it has been wishing "death" for decades and shrug and mutter, "Well, maybe they aren't so bad after all," or at least, "They're SOBs, but as long as they stay well down-wind of us, maybe we can plug our noses or something."  Kinda of a "We don't have to like each other or 'thaw our relations' in order to coexist".  As long as the war stays "cold," in other words, that'll be good enough.

If you were haplessly naive.  Or treacherously pro-Iranian like Barack Obama and John Kerry.

Clearly "Supreme Leader" Ayatollah Ali Khamenei couldn't give a camel's hump about what gut-busting misperceptions and delusions the Great Satan cooks up about the inner workings of his demonic brain.  He's still the same aspiring jihadist mass murderer he's always been and always will be, and he's got a region and a planet to conquer, and he's not letting anything get in his way.

Ergo, Israel is doomed:

Iran’s supreme leader predicts that Israel will not exist in twenty-five years, and rules out any new negotiations with the “Satan,” the United States.

Wow, that's an awfully generous respite.  Although he probably really meant twenty-five minutes.  "Days" at the most.

In remarks published Wednesday on his personal website and in posts on Twitter, the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, responds to what he says are claims that Israel will be safe for that period after the July nuclear agreement.

“After nuclear negotiations, the Zionist regime said that they will not be worried about Iran in the next twenty-five years,” Ayatollah Khamenei wrote.

Oh, I hardly think Benjamin Netanyahu said that.

“I am telling you, first, you will not be around in twenty-five years’ time, and God willing, there will be no Zionist regime in twenty-five years.

Is he prone to repeating himself?  Besides, "DEATH TO ISREAL!  DEATH TO AMERICA!", of course.

Second, during this period, the spirit of fighting, heroism and jihad will keep you worried every moment.”

Especially if you are smart enough to pick up on the likely fact that the mullahs already have nukes and can spring them on you at any moment.

And, oh by the way, America is doomed as well:

Iran’s Supreme Leader has said Tehran will not negotiate with the United States on any issue after the landmark nuclear deal with world powers in July, according to his official website on Wednesday.

Because they got everything from us that they could ever have dreamed of.  Diplomatic "one-stop shopping," as it were.

The comments appeared to contradict more "moderate"....

<sigh>

....president Hassan Rouhani, who said on Tuesday the Islamic Republic was ready to hold talks with the United States on ways to resolve Syria’s civil war.

i.e. Address Barack Obama's double-dealing clandestine support of ISIS against the mullahs' good friend and client Bashir al-Assad.  And after how thoroughly the mullahs cleaned us out on their nuclear program, why the hell not?

A difference, if there is one, of tactics, not objectives.  But evidently Khamenei's contempt for us has grown so dismissively robust that he's convinced he can just take whatever he wants from us with no resistance whatsoever.

And he's undoubtedly right.

“We negotiated with the U.S. on the nuclear issue for specific reasons.

They wanted nukes, and they knew Obama would effectively supply them.

(The Americans) behaved well in the talks....

Obama and Kerry were our bitches.

....but we didn’t....

We rode Obama and Kerry like Ron Turcotte at the Belmont Stakes.

....and we won’t allow negotiation with the Americans on other issues,” Ayatollah Khamenei was quoted as saying.

Because they now or shortly will have nukes.

“The Americans are not hiding their animosity towards Iran…

Ya sure coulda fooled me, Ali.

Americans in the Congress are plotting and passing bills against us…

"Plotting," perhaps.  Passing?  Nope.

Negotiations are a tool for them to influence Iran and to impose their will,” Ayatollah Khamenei said to hundreds of visitors to his offices.

I'm amazed he got through that bilious recitation without losing his composure under internal assault of the tsunami-like waves of hysterical laughter that had to be breaking against the bulwarks of his self-discipline.  Maybe he's trying to remind himself that Obama might actually leave office before the mullahs have the chance to EMP us.  You know, pace himself and all that.

On the other hand, maybe he's pacing himself for the uproarious mirth to continue for years to come:

Hillary Rodham Clinton will argue that the U.S. must be "clear-eyed" about the nuclear deal with Iran in a speech on Wednesday, stressing that Barack Obama's "landmark" agreement must be enforced with "vigor and vigilance" and is not a step toward normalizing relations with America's longtime enemy.

It's kind of difficult to "enforce" an "agreement" that (1) has no enforcement provisions and (2) even if it did, strictly prohibits the United States from doing so in favor of the corrupt, toothless, Iranian-penetrated International Atomic Energy Agency.  And, of course, they're not allowed to inspect either.

The Ugly Dutchess may want to let The One in on that last part.  Just in case he doesn't catch the fact that it came from the same brain that is painting the psychedelic portrait of her Emailgate innocence.

She probably got it in a 3AM phone call from her good friend Ali.
