Ex-Gitmo Jihadists' Recidivism Rate Skyrockets

by JASmius

And just think, ladies and gentlemen: The Regime is disclosing this information at the same time that they're trying to turn the rest of our enemy "detainees" loose and close Gitmo altogether.  Which tells me that the recidivism rate is vastly in excess of what they're grudgingly telling us:

The number of detainees freed from the U.S. Guantanamo detention camp who are suspected of "re-engaging" with militant groups overseas increased over the first six months of 2015, the Obama administration said on Thursday.

Figures released by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence showed that, as of July this year, of 121 detainees released since President Barack Obama took office in 2009, six were confirmed to have gone back to the battlefield and a further six were suspected of having done so.

Figures released in January had shown that Obama had released a total of 115 Guantanamo inmates, six of whom had returned to the battlefield, but only one of whom was then "suspected of re-engaging."

Between January and July this year the administration released six detainees.

So, "officially," the recidivism rate is up from 5.2% to 9.9%.  Which is a joke because it's well established and documented that the real Gitmo recidivism rate is closer to 30% overall, doing much to explain why (1) the Regime is only tracking those illegal enemy combatants that they themselves have released, and (2) brazenly low-balling the number that have returned to the Global Jihad against us.  Who do they think they're duping with this Islamophilic nonsense?

I'm far more puzzled by why O didn't just let the remaining "guests" go and unilaterally and summarily close Gitmo last November, when he illegally decreed a blanket amnesty and openly embraced the Castro brothers and otherwise embarked on all the granting of one Far Left wish list item after another.  Surely it can't be because he lacks the power (not legal authority, remember) to do so, and that factor precludes the need for courage, since he'd suffer no political consequences for doing so.  Why not just tear down the fences and barbed wire, throw open the doors and be done with it?  The swooning, idolatrous leftwingnut hosannas could begin, perhaps the final ones in which he'd ever bask.  I don't get it.
