Obama Pushing His Luck With Pope Francis?

by JASmius

Oh, don't get me wrong, Francis has no real problems with homosexuality or "transgenderism" or any other sexual perversion and debauchery God's Word condemns.  He wouldn't be "the Red Pope" if he did.

But the welcome "the first gay president" has in store for the first "gay pope" when he arrives in the U.S. for his "historic" visit is still embarrassingly presumptuous and over the top, even for as big an apostate as Francis:

On the eve of Pope Francis’s arrival in the U.S., the Vatican has taken offense at the Obama administration’s decision to invite to the pope’s welcome ceremony transgender [extrem]ists, the first openly [queer] Episcopal bishop and an [extrem]ist nun who leads a group criticized by the Vatican for its silence on abortion and euthanasia.

According to a senior Vatican official, the Holy See worries that any photos of the pope with these guests at the White House welcoming ceremony next Wednesday could be interpreted as an endorsement of their activities.

The tension exemplifies concerns among conservative Catholics, including many bishops, that the White House will use the pope’s visit to play down its differences with church leaders on such contentious issues as s[odo]marriage and the contraception mandate in the health care law.

Gee, ya think?  But I'm sure the fact that the above "dignitaries" were invited but not a single conservative Catholic received so much as rain check is nothing but a complete and total coincidence, right Josh Earnest?

I gotta say that this surprises me, at least a little bit.  This is the kind of open contempt that O usually reserves for archenemies like Benjamin Netanyahu and, of course, all Republicans.  If the Pope were still Benedict XVI or John Paul II, I would have been predicting it for months.  But Francis?  His ideological fellow-traveler and "co-religionist" in the "faith" of Marxism-Alinskyism?  The proletarian pontiff does have to keep up some appearances, and nowhere more so than on moral issues.  I can just see Francis whispering, sotto voce, to Obama next Wednesday, "Dudus non potuistis habitum uel mediocris inferioris profile uidetur? Gratias acervum aperuit, auctorum diurnorum Praeses."  And Obama whispering back, "What?  Speak English."

I mean, it's not as if Francis isn't covering O's skinny ass on his Cuba sellout by declining to meet with Cuban dissidents this week - who are, I might add, targeted Roman Catholics.  Couldn't The One have left Sodom & Gomorrah at home this once?

But no.  Even the Red Pope is not to be spared the godless, immoral freak show that is the celebration of leftwingnut "culture".  This time, the White House has evidently decided, he's more "pope" than "red," more "Christian" than communist, and he's to be symbolically crucified on the cross of degenerate embarrassment.

But as Captain Ed noted, that flaunting of fornicative frivolity was nowhere to be seen when Muslim dignitaries come a calling:

I’m curious. When the Saudis visited the White House this month, did Obama invite women’s-rights activists to dinner with them? Did Obama invite Ayaan Hirsi Ali to discuss the need for reform in Islam? No? Which entity has more need for openness, inclusiveness, and tolerance?

Why, Christians, of course, Ed.  Didn't you get your copy of the Executive Order?  If not, you'd better keep an eye out for the black helicopters, and start stocking up on Crisco.

UPDATE: I wonder of O's new Army Commissar will make the gig.
