Well, this is spiraling and escalating further and more crazily out of control with each passing day, isn't it?:
A Russian air force jet was shot down Saturday after violating Turkey's airspace, according to unconfirmed reports, with social media reporting a large explosion in northern Syria as three fighter jets flew overhead.
A journalist working in Turkey said on Twitter that three Turkish planes responded to "mysterious" lock-ons from MiG-29 [Fulcrum] jets, according to the U.K.'s Express.....
The incident comes after two Turkish F-16s forced another MiG-29 back into Syrian airspace last week.
Turkey, if you check your programs, is anti-Assad. Russia and Iran are pro-Assad. And now they're shooting at each other. The Turks vow to shoot down more Russian warplanes if they violate Turkish airspace. The Russians promise it will "never happen again" despite the fact that it has happened repeatedly and there's no reason to believe it won't continue. Technically, in fact, Russia and Turkey are now in a state of war. And since Turkey is, technically, still a member of NATO, that means Russia and NATO are, technically, in a state of war, which means Russia and the United States are, technically, in a state of war. And the United States is still being run by the same man who to this day brags about how he "ended wars" in the Middle East.
Turkey and Iran are rivals for Middle East hegemony. Maybe they'll start shooting at each other next. Which Barack Obama, who has gutted the U.S. military, will still, technically, call "weakness".
Will any of us still be alive in the morning? Technically? God only knows.
