Ben Carson Learns The Joys Of Frontrunnership

by JASmius

Don't act so surprised, Doc.  You're the one that put that sordid portion of your past out there for public consumption.  Once you took the lead in the Republican presidential race, the Obamedia was bound to take aim at it.  It was low-hanging fruit.

Having said that, I will say that on balance it probably did make more sense for you to get the angry violent acts of your youth into public view yourself, framing them in such a way as to integrate them into your biographical narrative.  If you'd left that to "liars" like CNN to unearth, it takes no leap of imagination to picture the racist cast they would have put on "Gentle Ben" going postal on a family member and trying to cave in their skull with a hammer.  As it is, all they can do is question your veracity because the family member in question doesn't wish to discuss it publicly.

But given those circumstances, and your frontrunner status, you had to know that this was going to be the result, even if it was the best-case scenario:

Ben Carson Friday told CNN that its story questioning his accounts of violence as a youth as "a bunch of lies" and a "pathetic" attempt to distract him and the public from the real issues that are important.

"You know, I'm not proud that I had these rage episodes," the top-ranking GOP candidate told CNN New Day anchor Alisyn Camerota during a long-ranging, often contentious exchange. "But I am proud of the fact I was able to get over them. My message has been that you can escape from that kind of anger."

But CNN's investigation of his accounting of the events, presented in his autobiography Gifted Hands, is a "bunch of lies, attempting, you know to say I'm lying about my history. I think it's pathetic and basically what the media does is they try to get you distracted with all of this stuff so that you don't talk about the things that are important. Because we have so many important things."

You're leading with your biography, Doc.  And the polls show that the core of your strength as a frontruuning candidate is your personal and professional ethics and integrity.  That's what the Obamedia has to attack if they are going to bring you down.  They couldn't have done anything else.

In other words, they fear you.  And there is one reason about all else why they fear you: You're black.  You're African-American.  And, given that you're a conservative, you are the true anti-Obama.  A Second Black President who sweeps into office and succeeds where Obama failed (i.e. pretty much across the board), who cleans up the unimaginable, ungodly mess Obama left behind, and undoes everything Obama ever did is a nightmare the Left cannot allow.  And so they will do everything humanly possible to make sure a Carson presidency never happens.

And that includes their Trojan Horse in the GOP race:

The Carson story is either a total fabrication or, if true, even worse-trying to hit mother over the head with a hammer or stabbing friend!

Better get used to it, Doc.  If you've got the staying power to remain on top, there'll be a lot more bunches of pathetic lies where this one came from.
