Cornucopia Of Terror?

by JASmius

I interpret this story as the feds know there are jihadist attacks coming over the next few days, but they don't have the intelligence resources the Obama White House has taken away from them that could have told them the who, what, and where (Why we already know all too well).  So all they can do is essentially shrug and say, "Be careful out there":

Though no credible or specific threats have been identified, the FBI and Department of Homeland Security have released a bulletin to eighteen thousand law enforcement agencies across the country warning of copycat attacks, similar to the Paris terrorist strikes that killed 130 people earlier this month.

Well, that's....entirely unhelpful.  "You may have another Paris on your hands - good luck!"  Like all eighteen thousand lower-level law enforcement agencies aren't perfectly well aware of that.  It's almost as if the feds are shooting out this bulletin to make it look like they're still relevant and as ass-covering so that after the big ISIS attack hits, they can point to this and say, "Hey, whaddaya want from us?  We sent out a bulletin."

According to ABC's World News Tonight with David Muir, the bulletin notes that, "Homegrown [Muslim]s inspired or directed by Syria-based operatives, could seek to replicate the effects of the Paris attacks using similar weapons and tactics, although on a smaller scale."

"Could"?  How about "will"?  And why on a smaller scale?  Why wouldn't they try to top Paris?  Why underestimate the enemy?  Aren't you people supposed to be prepared for anything?

They also warn the police "to be on the lookout for suspicious people conducting surveillance on soft targets in the United States," NBC News reports.

Well of course.  But shouldn't that always be the case?  And wouldn't that be a lot easier if there weren't eight million (and rising) Muslims in this country inbetwixt for jihadist operatives to hide?

How about going totally the other way by advising the estimated forty-seven million Americans planning to travel the next few days to stay where they are and go absolutely nowhere.instead?  Close all public gatherings until further notice.  Turn all private business, hospitals, schools, etc. into heavily armed fortresses.  Give ISIS as few "soft" targets as possible.

You have to admit it would be a more attention-grabbing story than this one.  But it would render the gun-control issue moot, and libs could never stand for that.  Explains a lot, doesn't it?
