The French pinprick - if way better targeted - retaliatory airstrikes in the Islamic State's capital of Raqqa, Syria, don't particularly impress me as a "muscular" response to ISIS's massive attacks in Paris last Friday (although it does beg the question of why Barack Obama hasn't targeted those same areas over the past year).
But this sure as merde does:
A woman blew herself up and a suspected jihadist was killed during a huge police assault in Paris Wednesday targeting the suspected mastermind of last week's attacks in the capital.
Gunfire and explosions rocked the Saint-Denis area in the north of the capital near the Stade de France stadium from before dawn as terrified residents were evacuated or told to stay in their homes.
Authorities arrested seven people, while five police officers suffered minor injuries in the operation which turned into a seven-hour stand-off between security forces and a group of people holed up in an apartment.
Gunfire first rang out in the darkness at around 4.00am (0300 GMT) in the streets close to where three suicide bombers had detonated their explosives outside the stadium at the start of Friday's attacks.
Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said telephone surveillance and witness reports "led us to believe" that Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the suspected mastermind of Friday's series of attacks in Paris that killed 129 people, had been in the apartment....
Following the raid, France President Francois Hollande spoke before the congress of mayors, claiming "the anti-terrorist raid in Saint-Denis confirms that we are at war." Hollande also said "The barbarians targeted France in its diversity (on November 1st). It's the youth of France which was targeted because it simply embodies life." [emphasis added]
Let me put it to you this way, dear readers: Can any of you imagine such an operation even being contemplated, much less carried out, in our own country? One so paramilitary? Against Muslims? With Barack Obama looking and sounding like General Douglas MacArthur? Sheldon Cooper would sooner star as Dirk Diggler in the remake of Boogie Nights.
And you know what else? This paramilitary operation that would have generated frenzied, enraged howls of "ISLAMOPHOBIA!!!" from the American Left and its domestic jihadist allies looks, according to CNN, to have been, according to police sources at the scene, "well timed" because the suspects were "about to move on some kind of operation." As in a second mass-casualty strike in five days.
The French, to use a word that is NOT "dirty," no matter what Barack Obama says, preempted another ISIS attack. They were proactive in protecting French civilian lives. They killed the enemy before the enemy could kill more of them. They did - and were allowed to do - their jobs.
If that had been in a borough of New York City, hundreds more Americans would be dead right now.
Meanwhile, the Obama FBI is coming out and publicly admitting that they are completely unprepared for such attacks as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches:
FBI officials directly involved in the war on terrorism are bracing for more threats over the holidays — and are reportedly worried they don't have enough resources to track the growing numbers of radicalized Americans inspired by the Islamic State.
The Washington Times, citing interviews with unnamed officials familiar with the FBI's preparations, reports the Obama administration's plan to accept thousands of Syrian refugees exacerbates the bureau's concerns.
"The administration has a calming public storyline that we have this all under control and life can go on as normal," one official tells the Times. "But we're one crack in the sidewalk away from a tragedy, and that crack could be an encrypted message we can't follow, a lead we couldn't resource or a refugee who slips in like we saw in Paris."
Another official tells the Times the bureau is frustrated the White House and Justice Department haven't pressured Congress to force technology companies to help break the encrypted communications of suspects.
"We have suspects we've been tracking that have gone dark, because we can no longer follow their encrypted activities," this official tells the Times.
"Physical surveillance can only take us so far and the urgency to solve that gap in the political realm isn't there."
Thank you, f'ing Rand f'ing Paul. Perhaps that's why Marcio Rubio just signed on as a sponsor to Tom Cotton's bill to resurrect the full Patriot Act electronic surveillance protections that Paul's so-called USA Freedom Act abolished. Because he actually wants to win the GOP nomination and win the American presidency and for America to lead and to win the war with Islamic Fundamenalism.
I guess we'll all have to take turns on armed guard duty at all our homes and hearths next Thursday. Good thing all three NFL Thanksgiving games suck, so I certainly won't be missing anything.
That brings us to the other side of this role reversal, which Jazz Shaw absolutely nails this morning:
A power has arisen in a troubled portion of the planet, repeatedly demonstrating that they are the real world equivalent of the forces of Mordor in terms of raw, unrestrained evil. That force has reached out and launched a horrific attack on a western capital. In response, a world leader has stood up to take the wheel. He has launched a series of blistering [eh...] airstrikes on this ascendant enemy. In the recently attacked city he has dispatched troops to kick down doors and gun down the collaborators of the enemy in the streets. This head of state has reached out within the week to form a coalition of allied nations [which is actually necessary if the U.S. isn't leading it - and we aren't] and obtain their commitment to join him in the fight. In a potentially risky but still bold move, this leader has opened a dialogue with a traditional adversary – Russia – and secured their agreement that, at least for a time, they might set aside their differences and combine forces against a common enemy. In a matter of hours he organized joint missile strikes on the headquarters of these evil creatures and Russia is moving their naval forces into position to support his efforts.
Who is this dynamic leader of the free world? His name is....Francois Hollande and he’s the President of France.
Meanwhile, Barack Obama is hanging out in the Philippines, following several speeches in which he assured the world that he’s not interested in American Leadership or America winning. When he does find time to issue strongly worded statements, they focus on attacking governors in his own country, chiding them for resisting a flow of potential terrorists into his own nation.
Another trademark Obama strawman, since they're merely the camouflage for the jihadist influx - which does make them part of the threat, but not the heart of it. As Rush Limbaugh said yesterday, The One is far more aggressive against Republican governors who are simply doing their jobs by trying to protect the citizens of their States than he has ever been against, you know, the real enemy.
And while he and his Regime insist now that the Syrian "refugee" vetting process they don't have is pretty much fine and dandy and the real problem is that the governors are simply ignorant of how wonderful it is, they themselves, back when it was safer to be marginally more candid, weren't sounding nearly so confident:
Several high-level administration officials have warned in recent months just how challenging this can be. While they say U.S. security measures are much better than in the past, vetting Syrian refugees poses a quandary: How do you screen people from a war-torn country that has few criminal and terrorist databases to check? …
“I don’t, obviously, put it past the likes of ISIS to infiltrate operatives among these refugees, so that’s a huge concern of ours,” Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said at a security industry conference in September....
FBI Director James Comey added in congressional testimony last month that “a number of people who were of serious concern” slipped through the screening of Iraq War refugees, including two arrested on terrorism-related charges. “There’s no doubt that was the product of a less than excellent vetting,” he said.
Although Comey said the process has since “improved dramatically,” Syrian refugees will be even harder to check because, unlike in Iraq, U.S. soldiers have not been on the ground collecting information on the local population. “If we don’t know much about somebody, there won’t be anything in our data,” he said. “I can’t sit here and offer anybody an absolute assurance that there’s no risk associated with this.”
You can be driving a Lamborghini, to wax metaphorical, and it still won't go anywhere if you have no gasoline to put in the tank. The best vetting process in the world isn't perfect, but if there's no information from the source population to enter into it, then you're reduced back to guesswork on whether or not each refugee is a passive jihadist, a violent jihadist, or an ISIS infiltrator (they're ALL jihadists of one sort or another). And Parisians found out firsthand "the risk associated with this," just as New Yorkers and Washingtonians (D.C.) suffered on 9/11.
This is the endgame of the Obama Doctrine, my friends. American leadership and American victory decried by the President of the United States of America himself, and France as the new leader of
Here's in interesting postscript:
Eight people have been arrested at Istanbul's main airport amid fears they are Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists posing as refugees after they were found clutching a hand-drawn map plotting the route to Germany.
Police sources said one of the suspects had a hand-drawn picture of a planned route from Turkey to Germany, via Greece, Serbia and Hungary.
It is believed the group are Islamic State militants planning to make their way to Germany posing as refugees.
The arrests come after an ISIS terrorist bragged about how easy it was to smuggle thousands of covert jihadists into Europe under the guise of being a desperate refugee.
The Syrian operative claimed more than four thousand covert ISIS gunmen had made it into western nations, hidden among innocent refugees.
He said members of the blood-thirsty group were following the well-trodden route taken by refugees and migrants fleeing Syria, travelling across the border of Turkey then on to boats across to Greece and through Europe.
The man claimed there are now more than four thousand covert ISIS gunmen “ready” to strike across the European Union. [emphases added]
But you go ahead, President Jackoff, and sneer at what's happening right before blind eyes.
The question I want to see asked of this worthless waste of skin is how many American deaths it will take to knock him off his Sheldon Cooper-esque "I'M RIGHT! I'M RIGHT! I'M RIGHT!" high horse, or perhaps just a straightforward, "Why are you so determined to allow our enemies to kill us all?"
And yes, once again, it is rhetorical.
UPDATE: The Honduran government has inconveniently let slip its detaining of five "Syrian refugees" with fake Greek passports bound for the U.S. via Turkey, South America, and Central America. But I'm sure it's TOTALLY INNOCENT, and that they'd have voted a straight Democrat ticket.
