The Difference Between Congress, and the President

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The Commander in Chief refuses to protect America.  After telling us he has contained ISIS with pinprick bombings that did nothing, Paris was hit by ISIS with the worst attack against France since World War II.  As Muslim terrorists flood into Europe, the repercussion is more terrorism.  So, France, and other European countries, are beginning to try to secure their borders, to watch out for terrorists. . . much too late, and without a willingness to profile.  Islam is the problem, but the leftist leadership of Europe refuses to fully admit that.

The Commander in Chief, President Barack Obama, in response to the attacks in Paris, vows to keep our borders wide open, and import Syrian terrorists (they call them refugees) into the United States.  In other words, the Commander in Chief, who is supposed to act in the interest of our national defense, is welcoming the enemy into our country with open arms.

He has no intention of being a Commander in Chief, especially against an ideology he was raised as a child to have respect for.  Besides, he doesn't want to be a Commander in Chief.  Obama would rather be a dictator, and legislate from the White House, in an attempt to make Congress irrelevant.

There has been a lot of concern about how President Obama seems to think he can do what he wants because he has a pen, and a phone.  He has used Executive Orders, then Executive Memos, and now simply his verbal royal decrees, to make law, modify law, repeal law, and to refuse to execute the laws he doesn't like.  Article I, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution clearly articulates that all legislative powers at the federal level belong to the two Houses of Congress.  Article II, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution clearly states that all treaties and appointments must be ratified by the Senate, but to get around that he has changed the names of treaties to "agreements," and has freely appointed czars and some other officers without the oversight of the Senate.  Article II, Section 3 tasks the President with taking care that the Laws of the United States be faithfully executed, yet he refuses to enforce immigration laws, and other federal laws.  Article IV., Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution demands that the federal government protect the States from invasion, yet this administration continues to encourage illegal immigration, and refuses to secure the border even though a law was passed mandating that a fence be built between the United States and Mexico.  Remember, this is the same man that in 2008 accused President Bush of actiing without Congress, and promised he'd change that.  Yet, instead, he claims he can change or ignore law when Congress does not cooperate with his will.

President Obama is the unconstitutional President imposing anti-American ideals into the American System.

"There can be no liberty where the legislative and executive powers are united in the same person."

President Obama is killing liberty.
