With the long-established understanding that all victories over Hillary Clinton are pyrrhic, so don't get your hopes up from anything that follows, let's set the table on the latest Benghazigate developments:
1) Remember what was supposed to be Mrs. Clinton's cataclysmic testimony before Trey Gowdy's Select Committee month before last that ended in the usual Clintonoid brazen denials and memory failures that resulted in the usual muddle that enabled her to make her usual escape? Remember the good parts - the email to Chelsea the night of 9/11/12 in which she lamented that al Qaeda was attacking the consulate, and this one to the Egyptians telling them the same thing:
It wasn't the YouTube video. The CIA knew that, Foggy Bottom knew that, the Benghazi consultate knew that, and Hillary knew that. - on the night that the attacks happened, while she was watching them in real time.
Yet three days later, she was telling the bereaved next of kin of the enemy-slaughtered "Chris" and Sean Smith and Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods that it WAS the YouTube video, vengefully promising to jail its maker....
....for what was her fault more than anybody else's because her misbegotten boss was seven and a half weeks out from his reelection bid and didn't need a humiliatingly successful jihadist attack spoiling his carefully-crafted "I GOT BIN LADEN!/al Qaeda is on the run" Narrative and exposing his clandestine arming of
That's not the surprise; the surprise is that she did so in the act of falling on her sword for somebody else like the proverbial "good soldier". But she would also have several years to recover from it through the usual Clintonoid obfuscation, fabrication, waters-muddying. And we all know how long several years is in politics, much less for La Clinton Nostra.
"What difference, at this point, does it make?" indeed.
Which brings us to this past Sunday on ABC's This Week, in which she managed to top her soullessness of three years ago to her husband's first White House Propagandists's face:
STEPHANOPOULOS: Did you tell them it was about the film? And what’s your response?
[MRS.] CLINTON: No. You know, look I understand the continuing grief at the loss that parents experienced with the loss of these four brave Americans. And I did testify, as you know, for eleven hours. And I answered all of these questions. Now, I can’t — I can’t help it [if] the people think there has to be something else there. I said very clearly there had been a terrorist group, uh, that had taken responsibility on Facebook, um, between the time that, uh, I – you know, when I talked to my daughter, that was the latest information; we were, uh, giving it credibility. And then we learned the next day it wasn’t true. In fact, they retracted it. This was a fast-moving series of events in the fog of war and I think most Americans understand that. [emphases added]
Uh, um, uh, who retracted what? al Qaeda and their credit-taking on Facebook? So the lie now is that she didn't lie about Nakoula Basseley Nakoula being responsible, but was relaying a lie told to her by the jihadist enemy everybody in the U.S. national security apparatus, including she, knew was attacking the Benghazi consulate while it was happening? Or, put another way, she puts greater confidence in the veracity of al Qaeda than in the family members of her own Ambassador to Libya, a U.S. airman and two ex-Navy SEALS? Whose stories all match up precisely in stark contrast to hers, which meanders all over the rhetorical landscape like Little Billy in the Family Circus?
That's not any "fog of war" - which happens to soldiers on the battlefield, not Cabinet officers in the White House Situation Room - it's blowing smoke the size of a cosmic dust cloud.
And that wasn't even the biggest Benghazigate bombshell of the day:
Newly released emails show that a senior Defense Department official offered the State Department “forces that could move to Benghazi” immediately during the deadly 2012 attack there on the American consulate. Jeremy Bash, the former Pentagon chief of staff, offered to provide forces at 7:19 p.m. on the evening of the attack, “only hours after they had begun,” according to Judicial Watch, which disclosed the email on Tuesday. “We have identified the forces that could move to Benghazi. They are spinning up as we speak,” Bash wrote. Portions of the email remain redacted by the Obama administration…The newly disclosed email contradicts testimony to Congress by Obama administration officials who cited the inability to immediately provide forces in response to the attack. [emphasis added]
Obama and Hillary could have saved Ambassador Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods, and Glenn Doherty. They could have saved them. But their God-damned reelection Narrative was more important, so their lives were sacrificed to the overriding priority of a second Obama term.
Bastards.
Turbo-mega-bastards, even.
Yeah, this should be a serious problem for Hillary Clinton. But it won't be. Because all victories over Hillary Clinton are pyrrhic.
