John Kerry Urges NATO To Fight ISIS So U.S. Can Fight Russia?

by JASmius

Sometimes stupidity can be used as camouflage for something else that is deadly serious.

Or crazy.

First, the stupidity:

[Commissar] of State John Kerry on Wednesday urged NATO allies to intensify the fight against the Islamic State..

"I called on every NATO ally to step up support in the fight against Daesh (IS), striking at the organisation's core in Syria and Iraq," Kerry said after a meeting of foreign ministers from the twenty-eight NATO states in Brussels.

"A number of allies are already bringing more to this battle or are planning to increase their contributions," he said.

What a joke.  The best Lurch can cite is British Prime Minister David Cameron going to Parliament to beg for permission to send a few planes to Iraq.  Big whoop.  But that's all that can realistically be expected from a one-time military alliance that is nothing now but a pathetic, toothless shell of what it once was.  And even in its Cold War heyday, NATO was the United States and very little else, which is why the U.S. had to organize the Atlantic Alliance in the first place.  Without us, Europe would have been quickly overrun and conquered by the Soviet Union.  Today?  It's little different vis-a-vie Putin's Russia.  Which is nakedly indicative of the emptiness of the Boston  Balker's urgings and admonitions via-a-vie ISIS.  No other NATO country can do our fighting for us in Iraq and Syria.  And they have absolutely no incentive to do so if we're not going to take the battle seriously ourselves and commit the resources, including boots on the ground, necessary to actually win it.

But let's get back to the Russians, and something alarming that Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI2) said yesterday during a House Armed Services Committee hearing:

Representative Tulsi Gabbard, who has increasingly clashed with Barack Obama on national security, suggested Tuesday that the president's decision to send American fighter jets on the Syrian-Turkish border "to target Russian planes" could lead to nuclear war with President Vladimir Putin.

"Russia’s installation of their anti-aircraft missile-defense system increases that possibility of — whether it's intentional or even an accidental event — where one side may shoot down the other side’s plane," the two-term Hawaii-2 Democrat told Defense [Commissar] Ash Carter at a hearing of the House Armed Services Committee. "And that’s really where the potential is for this devastating nuclear war."

She added that Obama's longstanding opposition to Syrian [dictator] Bashar al-Assad, who is backed by Moscow, could also exacerbate the situation, National Review reports.

O is sending U.S. warplanes to the Syrian-Turkish border - where the Turks have already shot down two Russian aircraft, generating considerable tensions with NATO already - to "target" more of them?  What in the blue hell for?  How does that help the fight against the Islamic State?  What, indeed, does it even have to do with it?  How does this jibe with the considerable retreat the Obama Regime has beat already from their original "Assad must go!" insistence?  What the hell is going on?

Hell's bells, it's not like Putin isn't already preparing for that confrontation.  And he's playing 3-D chess, while The One isn't even playing mumbledy-peg.  Indeed, I can't fathom what he's playing, or how blunding into a war with Russia helps his friends in the Global Jihad.

Unless....

It would be the Obama Doctrine endgame.

But no, that couldn't be - could it?

Could it?

Yes!  It!....um, never mind.
