Southern Border Surge Of Illegals "New Normal"

by JASmius

I was warning everybody in pixels and on the air six years ago that we were going to be hearing the term "New Normal" a great deal as Barack Obama "fundamentally transformed" this country into his own Islamocommunist image via Obamanomics, ObamaCare, the Obama Doctrine, and Obamnesty, just to name a few.

Today, NBC News comes right out and joins the chorus vis-a-vie the latter topic:

The flood of illegal [alien]s trying to sneak across America's southern border may be the "new normal," NBC News quotes a government official as saying....

More than ten thousand [illegal] children were stopped at the border in the past two months, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection statistics.  That is more than double the number apprehended during the same period last year.

The number of family units caught trying to cross the border is even higher. A total of 12,505 detentions were reported in October-November 2015, beating 2014's number of 4,577. That was a 173% increase.

"We could very well be seeing the new normal," U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Gil Kerlikowske told NBC News. [emphasis added]

It's normal, alright, although there isn't anything new about it.  The One threw open the borders (or, rather, threw them even more open) as soon as he took office, and weighed imposing his Immigration Proclamation as early as 2010 before deciding to wait until his second term to do so, correctly calculating that the 2010 midterms would have been an even bigger disaster for the Democrats in that instance than they actually did turn out to be.  It went on "below the radar" for years before 2012's DACA executive order and last year's Border Crisis splattered it all over the headlines, and then he capped it off with his sequel illegal, unlawful, unconstitutional imperial decree abolishing deportations altogether.  It's been the "normal" for so long that these perverse incentives have become irretrievably entrenched.  And as long as Barack Obama remains in power, or a Democrat succeeds him, and he keeps packing the federal courts with his robed leftwingnut oligarchists, the emptying of Latin America into the U.S. will continue, unabated:

The surge is seen by many border agents and officials as a reaction to a court ruling by U.S. District Judge Dolly Gee, who said federal officials must cut down detention time of those caught trying to enter the country illegally.

Unaccompanied minors now must be released federal detention centers to a relative in the United States after no more than five days. Parents must receive a quick release also unless deemed a flight risk.

Aren't they all pretty much "flight risks," given that almost all illegals no-show their deportation hearings?  It's question-begging nonsense, which goes to show that the Obama Regime considers the process, and U.S. immigration law, to be little more than artifice to conceal their utter and complete flouting of it.

And, as with so many other Obama power grabs and despotisms, there is nothing, as a practical matter, that we or our elected representatives can do about it.

That normal isn't "new," either.
