Benjamin Netanyahu Snubs Obama

by JASmius

And I bet it felt cathartically good, too:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declined an offer to meet Barack Obama at the White House later this month and canceled his trip to Washington, the White House said on Monday, citing Israeli news reports.

Netanyahu’s decision to nix his U.S. visit marked the latest episode in a fraught relationship with Obama that has yet to recover from their deep differences over last year’s U.S.-led international nuclear deal with Iran, Israel’s arch-foe.

The White House said the Israeli government had requested a Netanyahu meeting with Obama on either March 18th or 19th and that he was offered a March 18th encounter two weeks ago.

But then evidently switched the appointment to March 20th to deliberately conflict with Bibi's schedule and provide the petty pretext for accusing him of blowing off The One instead.  Like that would matter to the Israeli Prime Minister at this point.  It's not like the two men have anything left to say to each other after the Regime consistently siding with the "Palestinians," trying to bulldoze Israel into national suicide via the "peace" process, aiding Hamas in their serial wars against the Jewish State, attempting to dictate Israel domestic policies on where they can build settlements on their own territory, meddling in Israeli domestic politics to try and overthrow Netanyahu a year ago, regularly deluging him with playground taunts and barnyard insults ("chickenshit"), threatening to abandon Israel on the UN Security Council as well as shoot down Israeli fighter/bombers in any last-ditch attempt to nuclearly "disarm" their Iranian arch-enemies, and, of course, selling out the Jews to the completion of Hitler's "Final Solution" by green-lighting Tehran's nuclear weapons development.

And besides, the conventional wisdom is that O is a "lame duck," so why waste time and political capital even acknowledging, much less dignifying, his presence on another military aid package on which the Regime is, natch, both short-changing Jerusalem and no doubt burying them in "poison pill" hoop-jumping conditions?  True, the pickings won't get any better with Bernie, Hillary, or Trump in the White House a year from now - one of the "take it or leave it" taunts of the current Oval Office occupant - but there's at least a possibility that Ted Cruz might emerge victorious, and if not, what will Bibi have lost from waiting and finding out?

There's also the theory that were the PM come here in the eye of the GOP primary hurricane, he'd be beset by all remaining Republican contestants, and he might not want to be seen as "playing favorites" or endorsing anybody.  I don't buy that argument, since (1) Bibi strikes me as the last pol to give a crap about public perceptions, (2) he already knows Trump is an enemy, and (3) he has no reason to favor Cruz over Rubio or vice versa because both would be staunch Israel supporters as POTUS.

But I think part of it is, in pro wrestling terms, collecting his "receipt" on his infernal, jihadist-loving majesty by giving him the silent finger.  Or, "לזיין אותך ואת אופניים ורודים קטנים אתה הכביש על ."
