North Korea has test-fired missiles into the Pacific Ocean. The communist country is working to add long-range and intercontinental missiles to its arsenal.
The test comes shortly after threats were issued regarding a South Korea - United States joint military exercise.
North Korea has indicated they also have miniaturized nuclear warheads they can mount on ballistic missiles.
State Department spokesman John Kirby declined to comment on North Korea's claim to have miniaturized nuclear warheads.
The Pentagon said that North Korea has not demonstrated they have the technological capability to miniaturize a nuclear warhead.
