And from their "strong horse" perspective, why not? It's not as though "Allah has not removed all infidel opposition to the carrying out of his glorious will":
The Islamic State....has trained at least four hundred fighters to target Europe in deadly waves of attacks, deploying interlocking terror cells like the ones that struck Brussels and Paris with orders to choose the time, place and method for maximum carnage, the Associated Press has learned.
The network of agile and semi-autonomous cells shows the reach of the [Muslim] group in Europe....The officials, including European and Iraqi intelligence officials and a French lawmaker who follows the jihadi[st] networks, described camps in Syria, Iraq and possibly the former Soviet bloc where attackers are trained to attack the West. Before being killed in a police raid, the ringleader of the November 13th Paris attacks claimed to have entered Europe in a multinational group of ninety fighters, who scattered "more or less everywhere."
Estimates range from four hundred to six hundred Islamic State fighters trained specifically for external attacks, according to the officials. Some five thousand Europeans have gone to Syria. [emphases added]
And at least several hundred Americans as well - none of whose passports have been revoked by the Obama Regime, totally unsurprisingly, even though that guarantees more San Bernardinos and worse on our side of "the pond":
Top U.S. intelligence officials said Tuesday that ISIS was likely to attempt direct attacks on the U.S. in the coming year and that the group was infiltrating refugees escaping from Iraq and Syria to move across borders.
ISIS "will probably attempt to conduct additional attacks in Europe, and attempt to direct attacks on the U.S. homeland in 2016," Lieutenant-General Vincent Stewart, director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, testified on Capitol Hill Tuesday.
General Steward predicted that two months ago. Which doesn't make him a prophet, because it hardly requires clairvoyance to be able to recognize the blindingly obvious and that it's certain to escalate given all the encouragement and aiding and abetting the enemy is receiving from the Obama White House.
But several additional and critical factors, some touching upon Ted Cruz's spot-on recommendations from yesterday, need to be heavily emphasized.
1) The ease of attacking "soft" targets, of which any even semi-free society has a bottomless supply, even the ones who are not conspicuously and militantly pacifistic:
Despite the high death toll and dramatic scenes of destruction, this week’s attacks in Brussels appear to have been surprisingly easy to carry out, requiring little more than some careful preparation, a handful of motivated [jihadis]ts and ingredients that are readily available on store shelves.
As President Bush once said, and as Senator Cruz reiterated yesterday, the way to avoid fighting the enemy "over here" is to wipe them out "over there". Trying to stop every jihadist plot, the universe of which will multiply logarithmically in direct proportion to how free a hand we bequeath them in their home territories, is hopeless and a guarantee of ever-escalating carnage in OUR home because counter-terrorism ops cannot remain perfect under those circumstances, and all it takes is one catastrophic failure, like 9/11, much less being overwhelmed by them, to slaughter thousands none of whom need have perished at all. And the Obama Regime isn't trying to stop ANY plots, but lets them happen and then seeks with loud, self-congratulatory fanfare to make arrests and read Miranda rights and conduct criminal trials in which enemy illegal combatants are given legal counsel at our expense to use our laws against us in an effort to acquit and spring our enemies so they can return to the battlefield and massacre even more of us in endless acts of mass-murdering war.
2) ISIS really is everywhere:
A senior Iraqi intelligence official who was not authorized to speak publicly said people from the cell that carried out the Paris attacks are scattered across Germany, Britain, Italy, Denmark and Sweden. Recently, a new group crossed in from Turkey, the official said.
Seven different countries spanning most of the Continent. And that's one cell. How many people carried out the Paris attacks? Ten? How many did Brussels yesterday? Two, presumably, not counting the bomb-maker(s), whose job was, as noted above, not all that technically difficult. But let's use the ten figure as our divisor: Assuming six hundred jihadists deployed across Europe, that's at least sixty more such attacks, one right after the next, maybe several months apart, maybe accelerating to a spectacular crescendo, maybe a wad-shootingly all at the same time. It's only taken two for the French to (perhaps) have figured it out, but even assuming they have, it's happened so late in the "game," with their and neighboring countries having become so hopelessly infiltrated and shot through and functionally check-mated that they're all but helpless to stem this already underway onslaught.
3) The infiltration isn't just of the physical Islamic enemy, but the enemy's satanic ideology, creating enemies within:
French speakers with links to North Africa, France and Belgium appear to be leading the units and are responsible for developing attack strategies in Europe, said a European security official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak about briefing material. He is also familiar with interrogations of former fighters who have returned to Europe. Some were jailed after leaving ISIS while others were kicked out of the terror group. The fighters include Muslims and Muslim converts from all across Europe. [emphases added]
Five thousand of them, apparently. Five hundred Parises. A thousand Brussels. Enough for dozens of such massacres in each and every country in Europe. And the E.U. impotently powerless to stop any of it, because they have been turned into their enemy, invaded and occupied while willfully and self-congratulatorily blinding themselves to it while it was happening, with no place to go now except to liberal left commie bastard dhimmi purgatory where those who are darwinianly culled from the herd by their own stupidity are damned to spend eternity watching Celebrity Apprentice reruns, complete with irremovable closed captioning.
And Barack Obama considers Europe to be the new beachhead of "Islamophobia" because, apparently, they're willing to even pay impotent lip service to not wanting to simply silently and dociley be led like lambs to the slaughter.
