No, God The Son Is Not A Gender Impersonator

by JASmius

So much pagan infiltration, blasphemy, and apostasy, so little time.

Suzanne DeWitt Hall in the HuffPo throws in a generous dollop of stupidity for good measure:

“The current flap in conservative Christian circles about bathroom access is a bit baffling.

Not to any actual Christian, it isn't.

They shout about God not making mistakes, as if God only works in binaries and anything falling outside of black and white cannot be from him. But we don’t have a black and white God; creation is so full of color and variation that it’s incomprehensible how we Christians struggle to pare Him down to the limited palette of our individual expectations.”

It's not a question of our "individual expectations"; it's a matter of reading what God's Word says.

God created the world in sinless perfection....:

In the beginning God created the heavens and Earth.  Earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.  Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.  God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness.  God called the light day, and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

Then God said, “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.”  God made the expanse, and separated the waters which were below the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so.  God called the expanse heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.

Then God said, “Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so.  God called the dry land earth, and the gathering of the waters He called seas; and God saw that it was good.  Then God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them”; and it was so.  The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit with seed in them, after their kind; and God saw that it was good.  There was evening and there was morning, a third day.

Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on Earth”; and it was so.  God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also.  God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on Earth,  and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good.  There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

Then God said, “Let the waters teem with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the heavens.”  God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind; and God saw that it was good.  God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on Earth.”  There was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.

Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth after their kind”; and it was so.  God made the beasts of Earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all Earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on Earth.”  God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.  God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill Earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on Earth.”  Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all Earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you; and to every beast of Earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on Earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food”; and it was so.  God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

Thus the heavens and Earth were completed, and all their hosts.  By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.  Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. [emphases added]

....and Adam's sin brought the curse of entropy down upon it:

They heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.  Then the Lord God called to the man, and said to him, “Where are you?” He said, “I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself.”  And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?”  The man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate.”  Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” And the woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”...

Then to Adam He said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat from it’; Cursed is the ground because of you; In toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. “Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you; And you will eat the plants of the field;  By the sweat of your face You will eat bread, till you return to the ground, Because from it you were taken; For you are dust, And to dust you shall return.” [emphasis added]

Imperfection, natural disasters, birth defects, physical and, in the current context, mental, illness - all the product and consequence of original sin.  Creation wasn't supposed to be this way, but by God creating man in His own image, that included free will, and that meant the possibility of choosing to sin.  That was not God's fault; Adam was responsible for making that choice.  If God had omitted volition, men would have been automatons, unable to have a relationship with Him, which is the principle reason why God create him - and us.

God did not create sin; we did.  And here Mrs. Hall not only claims that He did, but that "it is good," which evokes Romans 1:28-32:

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.

"God gave them over to" meaning, essentially, "Letting nature take its course".  If sin is what they want, sin is what they'll get - and all its consequences.

Mrs. Hall's depraved mind reaches full flower in the following two quotes.

First, regarding Adam's wife, Eve:

“The worst offenders are the Christians who claim to take the Bible literally.

As Mrs. Hall wildly and depravedly does not.

Now Eve is a fascinating creature for many reasons. The Bible tells us she is the first example of human cloning, which I touched on in this post.  But the fun doesn’t stop there. If we take the Genesis account in it’s literal meaning, as conservative Christians demand that we do, she is also the first case of a transgender woman. God reached into Adam, pulled out a bit of rib bone, and grew Eve from that XY DNA into Adam’s companion. She was created genetically male, and yet trans-formed into woman.

The Bible does not tell us any such thing.  Here's what it does say:

Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.”  Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name.  The man gave names to all the cattle, and to the birds of the sky, and to every beast of the field, but for Adam there was not found a helper suitable for him.  So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place.  The Lord God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man.  The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”

God took the rib out of Adam, and replaced the Y chromosome in each cell with a second X chromosome.  You know how I know this?  Because we are all descended from Adam and Eve, and all men have an XY and all women have an XX.  Otherwise we could not reproduce, and "fruitful multiplication" would have been impossible.  Ipso facto, Eve could not have been a man.

If Mrs. Hall wants to go all sci-fi and call it "cloning," it was cloning with a supernatural - which is to say, actual - sex change, which we lack the technology to do.  Consequently, there is literally no such thing as "changing genders," and all attempts at it constitute chemical and surgical mutilation that changes precisely nothing.

And then, the blasphemous coup de grace:

“Then along comes Jesus and the whole pattern is both repeated and reversed. The first couple’s refusal to cooperate is turned around by Mary’s yes, and the second act of cloning occurs. The Holy Spirit comes upon the second Eve, and the child takes flesh from her and is born. Born of her flesh. Born with XX chromosome pairing. Born genetically female, and yet trans-formed into man.”

No, He wasn't.  God The Son's humanity was conceived within Mary, using her genetic material (XX chromosome pair) by God The Holy Spirit, Who provided the Y chromosome at conception.  That is why God The Son is called the SON of God.  It was not "cloning," it was supernatural creation.  Look who's limiting God now?

It says it plainly in Luke 1:26-37:

Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.  And coming in, he said to her, “Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.”  But she was very perplexed at this statement, and kept pondering what kind of salutation this was.  The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God.  And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.  He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.”  Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I am a virgin?”  The angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God.  And behold, even your relative Elizabeth has also conceived a son in her old age; and [z]she who was called barren is now in her sixth month.  For nothing will be impossible with God.” [emphases added]

God The Son is not God The Mutilated Daughter; He is God The Son.  Period.

Oh, and did I mention that Mrs. Hall calls herself a "Christian" in the sense that all ACTUAL Christians must be forced to bow down to her blasphemy?

A depraved mind, indeed.

Meanwhile, as God told Moses at the burning bush:

Then Moses said to God, “Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you.’ Now they may say to me, ‘What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?”  God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ [emphases added]

No gender-bender gets any say in that.
