Attacks Against Police Continue: Kansas City, Columbus, Daytona, Atlanta

Kansas City, Kansas: Police officer shot and killed while chasing suspects involved in a drive-by shooting.  A total of 31 law enforcement officers have been shot to death while on duty this year, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page.

Columbus, Ohio: A Columbus police officer was rushed to the hospital after officials say he cut his mouth after biting into a sandwich, which contained several shards of glass from an east Columbus restaurant.

Columbus, Ohio: Police officers have come under rifle fire attack in the city of Columbus, Ohio, reports on Twitter said, citing police scanners.  “Officers under attack from rifle fire,” the message on Columbus Police Dispatch said.  Later, Columbus’s ABC 6 reported a large portion of Cleveland Avenue was shut down in the city’s north as the police investigation was underway.

Daytona, Florida: Molotov cocktails were used to set fire to a squad car.  The police cruiser was parked in front of the Islamic Center of Daytona, Flordia.  No one was injured.  Police said a note was found at the scene.  "BLACK LIVES MATTER. A. Sterling. P. Castile.  F–k the police!!!"

Atlanta, Georgia: Police outside Atlanta say they were shot at while responding to break-in at a gun store.
