Obama in Denial

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Did you hear the going away speech by Barack Obama?  He actually thinks his presidency was worth a damn.  He spent the entire speech bragging about how wonderful he is, and how the world is a much better place.  Reality paints a completely different image.

The economy is a mess.  The world's bad characters are spreading tyranny at will.  The labor participation rate is horrid, with 95 million Americans out of the labor force.  Recovery?  We never recovered.  Obama had his own shovel ready job of digging a deeper hole for America.

Over 11 million more Americans are on food stamps, and more than 43 million Americans now live in poverty. One of every six men between 18 and 34 are either in prison or out of work.  But, that is somehow a sign of success to Obama.

The national debt grew more under Obama than all previous Presidents, combined.  It's almost $20 trillion.

Regulations have created a hostile business environment in this country (making companies leave our shores), with the cost of the regulations added totally to $873 billion. That includes a shocking $344 billion cost in Environmental Protection Agency regulations alone. The creation of new regulations under President Obama clocks in at just under 3,000.

Manufacturing is down, with 300,000 manufacturing jobs gone during the Obama regime.

Then, there's ObamaCare, the nightmarish calamity that has failed to do as Obama claimed, and is collapsing under its own weight.  People didn't get to keep their doctor.  And yes, premiums went up, not down.  Never mind the fact that there is also absolutely no constitutional authority for the federal government to intrude upon the health care industry.

Also, Islamic terrorism is on the rise, and Obama says it's gotten better.

Trump says he will stop ISIS, stop the Muslim invasion into the United States, reduce the flood of illegal aliens (by building a barrier between the U.S. and Mexico. . . as is already prescribed by law, encourage job creation by making America a desirable place to do business, lower taxes (also encouraging economic growth), fix our fouled up trade deals, and promote domestic energy programs.

Trump has a plan, rather than acting as an oxygen thief like Obama, whose greatest accomplishment is long speeches that woo most Democrats, but in reality steals breathable air from the rest of us.
