Rejection of S.B. 54: California's Sanctuary State Proposal

S.B. 54 is a proposal by the California Legislature to proclaim California as a Sanctuary State.

The proposed law is in violation of the U.S. Constitution's Supremacy Clause which disallows a State to have a law contrary to constitutional federal laws.

Escondido and Glendora are the two most recent cities to also reject the bill, and refuse sanctuary status.

Meanwhile, AB 1252 in Sacramento has been introduced by Assemblyman Travis Allen of the 72nd Assembly District.

The proposed bill is titled: State law: immigration: local government: state grants.

The bill is a stance against sanctuary status, repealing damaging California immigration stances that support illegal aliens, and putting in place a mandate that would prohibit a city, county, or city and county designated as a sanctuary jurisdiction from receiving grant funding from the state.

The bill would also authorize a resident of the State of California to bring a civil action alleging that a city, county, or city and county is a sanctuary jurisdiction.

Voters, are you paying attention to who is on our side as citizens?
