Weird Democrats Applause Rangel When Pelosi Reads Charges Against Him

What weird people Democrats are. As part of Rangel's censure, after what should have been a public rebuke, the Democrats applauded him. Were they applauding him for being corrupt? Republicans go to jail for doing the same kind of things Rangel did.

This is the first censure in 30 years.

By the way, Pelosi only read one charge, and they did this after six pm, probably to make sure it did not make the Nightly News. That would be only one charge out of eleven. The penalty is supposed to be all charges read, you know, for maximum impact of the punishment.

Strangest of all, however, is after she read the charge against Rangel, he got a jubilant ovation from the Democrats in the House of Representatives.

These people on the left are truly out of their mind.

As a child one of my favorite series of books was C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia. Lewis himself wrote that Aslan the Lion in the books represented Jesus Christ. The fact that the allegorical character represented Christ was quite obvious considering his death and resurrection in the first book, and his triumphant return to destroy the great deceivers in "The Last Battle."

Liam Neeson, the actor who plays Aslan by voice in the movie version of Lewis' beloved series of books has decided that Aslan is also Buddha and Mohammed.

Hardly.

Mohammed was a barbarian that used violence to get his power, and deception through a made-up religion to conquer. Definitely not attributes one might see in Aslan.

C.S. Lewis would have been appalled by Neeson's comparison.

2010 Christmas Controversy In Full Swing

Every Christmas the attacks on the Christian Holiday becomes more and more pronounced. I am not challenging the freedom of the people who oppose Christmas to conduct their attacks. I am simply suggesting that the intensity of the attacks, and the fact that such attacks on all things Christian are primarily focused on Christians while the same groups attacking Christians practice tolerance and fairness to all other groups (like Muslims), is a glaring sign of the current state of society. You have a right to do things, but that does not always mean you should. The attacks on Christianity is simply a sign of the decline of America's morality, and the intolerance of many people against Christians, while bending over backwards for groups like Islam who truly does have a theocracy in mind that is intolerant in ways Christianity could never be.

The GOP Has My Support On Bush Era Tax Rates

The Democrats, long ago taken over by progressive, liberal Marxists, are still clinging to class warfare as a tactic to maintain power in America. The divide and conquer strategy employed by the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, Harry Reid and their forefathers and foremothers is pretty simple; find a point where 51% of Americans will benefit from something and screw the other 49%. It works most of the time too because of the greed in the hearts of so many to stick it to someone else perceived to have more than them.

Democrats in Congress thought for sure they had another instance where they could implement this diabolical and anti-American strategy with regards to tax rates and what the future ones would be come January 1st, 2011. With federal income tax rates and a myriad of other sordid taxes set to change in an upward direction with the start of the New Year, liberals laid out their plan of attack. They want to keep the current tax rates for most Americans but they also want to let those for Americans making over $250,000 per year revert to previous and higher levels. They thought that because so many Americans would benefit from this plan that people would be behind them in significant enough numbers and they could once again conduct business as usual.

But that has not happened. Divide and conquer has failed. In fact reputable polling has shown that the American people are firmly against raising taxes on anyone regardless of their income. Democrats are, to say the least, shocked by this. After all, this is not the way it has worked in the past when the sheep have stood there and been sheered without a fight. It was even one of the major issues in last November’s elections where Americans turned out Democrats in droves to repudiate the party's leadership in Congress over the last four years and the White House over the last two.

Even though the will of the people is clear however it has not stopped the Democrats from pushing forward with a tax plan that only holds rates for those under $250,000 in income while raising taxes on those above that limit. This plan has passed the House with Nancy Pelosi smiling gleefully. Yes, even though there was bipartisan opposition to this maneuver no one has yet to wipe the Joker like grin from her lips. On the other side of the Capitol in the Senate, Republicans and a few Democrats are certain to filibuster any such similar plan and abort it should it come up between now and year's end.

Thus, with the liberal Democrats firmly set in their ways of seeing the so-called rich as in need of having their taxes raised and President Obama pretty much in agreement it is almost certain that as of January 1st, all of our taxes are going to go up. Is there any way around this eventuality at this point? Not unless both Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid get new and functional brains in the next couple weeks, President Obama has a stroke of sanity or the Republicans cave to imaginary pressure and give the liberals what they want.

I know what some of you are saying. You are saying why not just pass the tax rate extension the Democrats will go for now and then come January the Republicans can push for the rest of them to be extended retroactively as well? What a fool’s errand that thought process is. Republicans will control the House. However by my count they will be well short of the 60 votes required to overcome a filibuster in the Senate. Further, with Harry Reid still in charge of that later body you can bet your bottom dollar that he will use every parliamentary procedure at his disposal to prevent such a plan from ever coming to a vote even if a filibuster could be beaten. Then there is the man in the White House, a man who would never sign such a bill into law and whose veto would require a two thirds vote in Congress to override. Think that will happen? Then I laugh at you.

No, this is a stand the Republicans must make here. The income tax rates along with all other federal tax rates must be held steady and they must be done as a package deal for all Americans. Otherwise there will be no next time and some will get screwed while others get theirs.

As a member of the middle class I want to tell the GOP that I stand firmly behind them and their insistence that all current tax rates be at the very least held steady without an increase for anyone. Furthermore I am perfectly willing to accept that because of this stand my taxes will indeed go up if the childish Democrats want to force the issue into the New Year by refusing to abandon their class warfare model of governance. And I am ok with that on principle.

Sure I will pay more. And sure I will become angrier with the federal government than I currently am if I have to pay more. But I will target my anger at the source of the problem which is all those liberals who think that one person is more entitled to the money they earn than another is. I will not become angry with the GOP, at least not over this issue, as long as they fight for what is right and just.

I just wanted to let you guys and gals know it. Now do not go wobbly on me. Sometimes the principle of the thing is more important than personal benefit. A shocking and uncommon revelation for certain in today’s society which is mostly me, me, me at the expense of everyone else’s well being and even the Constitution itself. But it is one that I am certain is becoming more and more common in the hearts of most Americans.

And for all you rich liberals out there whining that you do not think you pay enough in taxes, well I remind you that you can freely donate whatever extra you think you should be paying in taxes to the federal government. It is a pretty well kept secret however that you hacks on the left never take advantage of that option. So to help you out I thought I would give you the information. Just whip out your checkbook and make the check payable to the United States Treasury. Sign it and then mail all that money you feel you should be forced to give up but are not to Gifts to the United States, U.S. Department of the Treasury, Credit Accounting Branch, 3700 East-West Highway, Room 622D, Hyattsville, MD 20782.

Stop demanding that we put our money where your mouths are. It is time for you liberals to put up or shut up.

They're Getting Desperate

Senator Bob Menendez likens negotiating with Republicans regarding tax cuts to negotiating with terrorists. See, to them, compromise means Republicans caving in to Democrats' demands. When that doesn't happen, they show their true, bizarre, wacko colors. One commenter nailed it: "They'll talk to North Korea and Iran, but not the Republicans. Nice." My husband was cleaning carpet yesterday for a couple who own a recycling center here in town. They are very well off. They were discussing the Democrats' wanting to raise taxes on people who make over $250,000.00. She said, very succinctly, "People who make under $250,000.00 don't hire people." Exactly. The Democrats do crap like that, then wonder why nobody's hiring. Jerks.

Liberalism always results in unintended consequences that in reality contradicts what liberals are trying to do. Taxation is a great example. Higher taxes result in less activity of the item being taxed, therefore resulting in less revenue.

Sometimes, tax hikes result in illegal activity too!

In New York the cigarette taxes have become so high that now there is a black market. The whole point of raising the cigarette tax was to raise revenue, or at least encourage people to quit through such a punitive taxation plan. The hike in taxes resulted in neither. Instead, the progressives in New York have created crime. Smokers have gotten to the point that they are willing to run the risk of buying black market cigarettes, rather than pay these exorbitant prices, which are due totally to the ridiculous tobacco taxes.


If the progressives in New York really wanted to raise revenue off of cigarettes they'd cut taxes. Less expensive cigarettes would have resulted in an increase in sells, and they would have collected more revenue.

This reality reveals the real reason for the taxation. As with everything else associated liberalism, the high taxes on cigarettes is a control mechanism. They have done all they can to create this notion that tobacco is a killer, and they are telling us that part of their strategy of taxing the cigarettes is to punish smokers for daring to not follow their dictate (which is insidious enough as it is). But in reality, the last thing that the federal government wants is for people to stop smoking. They know people just can't. They know we're dealing here with an addiction. Nicotine is the most addictive drug on earth, though it is not a criminal addiction. So, the progressive liberal scum knows nobody's going to quit smoking.

This is all about power for the liberal Democrats. Remember, if they really cared about raising revenue they would lower the taxes on cigarettes. They want the power to determine if you smoke, how much you smoke, and making themselves look like they care about your health, even though in reality to the ruling class you are nothing more than a stupid peasant. In reality, they could care less if you live or die.

Warfare politics is about getting votes, about pitting one group of Americans against another. Here, they pit the smokers against the non-smokers, demonizing smokers as much as they can, so that non-smokers will vote Democrat because "at least they care enough to try to get these poor people to quit smoking."

Forget what your individual decision may be. If the Democrats say stop smoking, you will stop, or become the enemy, and suffer their wrath.

The real danger is that the real believers in liberalism believe that controlling people, forcing them to change their behaviors like this, is a good thing. They truly think it means doing such totalitarian things through an oppressive government makes them more moral than you. I smoked for twenty-one years, and quit in 2005. But it was my decision I made because of my own personal reasons. If smoking is unhealthy, then fine, tell me it's unhealthy, but don't take actions to force me to quit smoking. For an item that is legal to use, that is my own personal decision.

Remember, they don't want to force you, if you smoke, to quit smoking because they care, only because they want to create warfare between you and non-smokers for political reasons.

The Black Market, however, caught them off guard. They didn't expect that the results of their punitive taxation would be people still smoking, and also the government leftists losing revenue because less cigarettes are being bought legally.

The same thing happened in Washington State, and the same thing happened nearly thirty years ago.

That is what failures do. They act in a liberal manner, even though history proves them to be idiots. That's because the result, the black market, the rise in crime, is not their concern. They only wish to create warfare, to produce votes, to increase their power. . . simple as that.

Europe's Failure is Our Own

The European Union (EU) is on the brink of failure, and the lesson should be telling here across the pond.

The problems seem fairly straightforward. The debts of these EU member states are growing faster than their economies, and they are growing larger than their economies. The larger and faster the debt grows, the dimmer the prospects of debt repayment become to creditors, and so investors demand higher interest rates.

If things get really bad, then the nations cannot auction their debt off, and face a national default.

As the full scope of Greece's budget problems came into full view — it had lied about the actual size of its national debt by over €40 billion — it could no longer sell its debt. The result was a €110 billion EU bailout for Greece earlier this year to help paper over its debt.

Unfortunately, the crisis was not merely limited to a gargantuan Greek accounting scandal. Other European nations were also taking a pounding in the bond markets, like Spain, Ireland, Portugal, and others.

As a result, months later the EU has announced that it is guaranteeing all of its member states' debts. This effectively turned the continent's €750 billion "temporary" sovereign debt bailout fund by the European Central Bank (ECB) into a permanent debt monetization fund, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. Now, the EU has agreed to an €85 billion bailout for Ireland. As other states fail to sell their debts, they'll get bailouts, too.

The way the bailout essentially works is that when member states like Ireland, Greece, and others cannot sell their debt, the ECB agrees to print more euros to fill in the gaps. So shaky are the finances of these European states that the only way they can pay their bills is by printing the money needed.

The ostensible purpose of the money-printing has been to ease the borrowing costs of member states. The logic is that if the ECB agrees to prevent the nations from defaulting on their debts, the risk of failure is removed from the equation, therefore market demand for the bonds would be restored, and interest rates on sovereign debt should come down.

Except, the exact opposite has happened. Since the Irish bailout was announced on November 28^th, yields on Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Belgian debt have risen. What does this mean? That far from calming the bond markets, the central bank interventionism has sent a decidedly different message to creditors, warning that the value of their investments are being diluted with printed money.

Therefore, the more money a central bank prints to pay its nation's debts, the higher the interest rates the markets will demand for that debt to stave off inflation and the depreciation of their assets. If it gets really bad, nobody will even accept the currency as a means of payment. That's essentially what happened to the Weimar Republic in the 1920's, and we all saw how that turned out.

For the U.S., it will be even worse. As the caretaker of the world's reserve currency, a run on the dollar would likely level the entire global economy, leaving a new economic order in its place. The dollar run may have already begun, as China and Russia recently announced that bilateral trade relations would no longer be conducted with dollars. That could be a preemptive move by the Chinese and Russians to prepare for dumping their dollar holdings, which are considerable.

It is in this context that members of U.S. Congress must now view the current round of purchases by the Federal Reserve of U.S. treasuries. Now, the central bank is buying another $600 billion over the next many months. It already holds over $900 billion, more than either China or Japan held as recently as September.

That means the Federal Reserve has or very soon will become the top lender in the entire world of U.S. debt. If you count the government's off-balance sheet liabilities (i.e. those that do not appear on the federal budget), factoring in "Federal Agency Debt" puts the Fed's stake in the government at $1.05 trillion. It comes to $2.086 trillion if you factor in mortgage-backed securities.

And they bought it all with printed money. Which is exactly the model Europe has adopted. Make no mistake, they are copying us. Greece got into trouble because it did not count its off-balance sheet liabilities towards its national debt. The U.S. may not be far behind if the government's "investment" in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is counted towards the national debt.

Ostensibly, the Fed made its current round of purchases to ease the borrowing costs of the U.S. Except, like the Europe, the opposite has happened. Long-term treasuries yields have gone up since the Fed's November QE2 announcement.

As the Hoover Institution's Scott Powell warns, "Rolled out as positive stimulus for the U.S. economy, QE2 could be, in fact, a liquidity dodge necessary to monetize U.S. Government debt issuance the Chinese and foreigners are no longer willing to buy. In any case, unlike Greece and Ireland, which are being rescued by an infusion of capital from Germany and the European community, there is no one to bail out the U.S."

That means that the Treasury is insolvent. And when the sovereign debt bomb blows up, nobody will be able to bail us out. For now, the Treasury can only pay its bills by having the Fed print more money. To the extent that the Fed's action drives up borrowing costs, it becomes a zero-sum game, as the EU is quickly learning across the pond.

Above all, the EU is a monetary union, a debt union, and to the extent that it can fail, so can we. The U.S. is a federal union of states, but it is also a monetary union, a debt union. Leaders in Congress must be cognizant that the nation's balance sheet is not above close scrutiny — and even insolvency — in the new interdependent global economic system.

Obama Gulf Oil Moratorium Exposes More Lies

Months ago, in the face of an angry public over the loss of jobs over his Gulf of Mexico drilling moratorium, Obama stated the federal government would soon allow more domestic offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. However, Obama lied. The Interior Department has now placed a moratorium on offshore drilling off the Pacific, Atlantic, and eastern Gulf Coasts for at least seven years, citing last year’s British Petroleum oil spill as the excuse.

When running for president Obama indicated that breaking our dependence on foreign oil was among his main goals. Yet, the federal government's moratorium on offshore drilling in the Pacific, Atlantic, and eastern Gulf is yet another nail in the coffin for the idea of breaking our dependence on foreign oil. Reducing domestic production worsens the problem, and he knows it. He lied, he simply lied and expects us to accept his lies without so much as a peep.

Obama is now pursuing policies that are in complete contrast to what he had promised as a presidential candidate. His moratorium also runs against the economic interests of our nation. By banning oil drilling he has squashed a potential increase in jobs and economic activity that would be associated with domestic drilling.

The United States stands alone as the only nation with potential major offshore oil resources that is not actively pursuing them. However, the American government is allowing, without any protest, Cuba to bring in China, Russia, and Venezuela to drill a few miles off the Florida Keys. In fact, American tax payers have actually paid Brazil to drill in the Atlantic, though we will not do the same.

Instead of pursuing economically wise activities, such as domestic drilling of oil, this administration has instead pursued the pipe dream of creating green energy jobs, which requires taxpayer subsidies and government mandates - and a policy that has proven to be fatal in Spain.

THERE'S NOT AN OUNCE OF PORK HERE...

We all know that the only places they can cut is Police and
Fire....I know, I've seen that on the TV ads!

I don't care whether you are a Democrat, a Republican or a
Presbyterian. This list has to shock you. Over the years, our
politicians have created this enormous pork barrel of agencies that
employ over 350,000 people directly and countless more via contracts
with the State. All of these people get salaries, medical coverage and
pensions at our expense. Take a good, close look. Is this really what
you want your tax dollars to fund?

Constitution Study With Douglas V. Gibbs - Tonight's Topics: Article I Review, Article II Preview


Article I establishes the Legislature.

Section 1 of the first article establishes the two parts of Congress, and grants all legislative powers to the two houses of Congress.

Key words:

Herein: Within this document, meaning that the authorities of the federal government are contained "herein."

Granted: Legally transferred, meaning that the authorities of the federal government are given to them through a legal transfer of power by the authority of this social contract between the States and the newly formed federal government. The "givers" of these powers are noted in the Preamble: We The People of the United States (note United States is in the plural, meaning that it is not being stated in the Preamble as a single nation, but as a collection of sovereign states).

Vested: Legally transferred, meaning that the We the People of the United States give the power to legislate to the U.S. Congress, provided that the laws made are within the authorities granted by the U.S. Constitution.

Section 2 defines the House of Representatives. The members of the House are divided among the States proportionally. The House of Representatives is the voice of the people in the federal government.

Section 3 defines the U.S. Senate. Senators were originally appointed by the legislatures of the individual States. This was changed in 1913 through the 17th Amendment. Each State has equal suffrage in the Senate, meaning each state has the same amount of Senators, two each. The Vice President is introduced in this section as the President of the Senate, who may be involved in all proceedings if he so desires, but his vote only matters if there is a tie. The U.S. Senate was the voice of the States in the federal government.

Section 4 establishes that each State may have its own methods for electing members of the Congress, and mandates, or requirements, and that Congress must meet at least once per year. Understanding this, it becomes clear that when the hanging chad controversy arose (Gore/Bush), the legal case should have only gone as high as the State Supreme Court. The federal government had no authority over that case, as per this section.

Section 5 indicates that Congress must have a minimum number of members present in order to meet, and if the Congress deems it necessary, may set fines for members who do not show up. Section 5 states that each house may have its own rules, keep a journal to record proceedings and votes, and that neither house may adjourn without the permission of the other.

Section 6 goes over compensation, and the rules regarding such. Section 6 also establishes that members of Congress may not be detained while traveling to and from Congress, and that they cannot hold any other office in government while in Congress. This section also indicates that no member of Congress shall be appointed to a later office if while in Congress the office was created, or a raise in pay was enacted for that office - Secretary of State received a raise while Hillary Clinton was in the Senate, so technically she was not eligible for the position when she was appointed. To fix this, the Democrats applied the Saxby Fix, meaning they undid the raise, and Hillary receives the compensation that was in place before the vote she participated in while in the Senate. Saxby Fix: Salary rollback.

Section 7 explains how bills become law. Any bill that raises taxes or fees must be proposed in the House of Representatives, giving "The People" the purse strings. All bills must pass both houses of Congress in the exact same form. When they are not the same, that is when a new vote for one of the bills must be established, or reconciliation is used, which still requires another vote. As the government had been established, the process allowed the people (House of Representatives) and the States (U.S. Senate) to both have the opportunity to approve the bill before it went to the Executive. If the bill is vetoed by the President, it can be overridden by a two-thirds majority by both houses. This allowed the People to constrain the States, the States to constrain the People, and for them to together constrain the federal government (Executive Branch).

Section 8 lists the authorities of Congress. Since Congress has the sole power to make law, this is also commonly referred to as the list of powers of the federal government.

Section 9 is a prohibitive section, placing limits on Congress.

Section 10 is a prohibitive section, placing limits on the States.

One will note that the authorities given to the federal government all have a common theme - they are for promoting, preserving, and protecting the union. After all, the primary purpose for the writing of the U.S. Constitution was in order to form a more perfect union.

Article II establishes the Executive Branch.

Section 1 establishes the offices of President and Vice President. The election process is by the Electoral College. Originally the State Legislatures appointed the electors, but that was later changed in 1824 to a direct vote of the electors by the people. The change was technically unconstitutional because no amendment was proposed and ratified. Section 1 also requires the President to be a Natural Born Citizen of the United States, as well as establishing his compensation.

Section 2 gives the President some important powers. As Commander in Chief of the armed forces, and of the militias of all the states, he is able to wage war. Declaration of war, and the funding of war, is reserved to the Congress. Section 2 also states that the President may have a cabinet to assist him, but that the appointees must be through the advice and consent of Congress. He make make treaties with other nations, but the treaties must be ratified by the Senate. He may also pick judges, and other members of government, but once again none of this can be done without the approval of the Senate. This is where the constitutionality of "czars" comes in question.

Section 3 establishes the duties of the President, such as giving a State of the Union Address, making suggestions to Congress, acting as head of state by receiving ambassadors and other heads of state, and ensuring that the laws of the United States are executed.

Section 4 explains impeachment.

U.S. Senate Says "No" to Earmark Ban

An earmark ban bill went before the Senate, and the idiots voted against it.

Earmarks are commonly called pork, and are pet projects, or other spending measures, included in bills that often have nothing in common with the earmark. It is a way of getting things passed without having anyone make a fuss about it. But, if these things are so good, why not have them stand alone?

Senate Republicans have passed a voluntary ban on earmarks in their caucus, but several GOP senators have objected to it. Eight Republicans, the scum, also voted against this bill: Thad Cochran (Miss.), Susan Collins (Maine), James Inhofe (Okla.), Dick Lugar (Ind.), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Richard Shelby (Ala.). Retiring Sen. George Voinovich (Ohio) and defeated Sen. Bob Bennett (Utah)

Remember those names, and let's make sure they don't politically survive the primaries in 2012.

This bill, if it were to pass, would establish an earmark moratorium for fiscal years 2012 and 2013.

Democrats voting for the earmark moratorium: Sen. Claire McCaskill (Mo.), Sen. Bill Nelson (Fla.), Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.) Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.), and Colorado Sens. Michael Bennet (D) and Mark Udall (D).

Shocked the heck out of me.

Republicans need to keep on pushing. The voters are paying attention.

TSA Screening Got Me Thinking. . .

I have defended the U.S. Government for trying to make us safe through national security measures, but have also indicated that the measures we are seeing with the TSA is going to far. It made me wonder, however, why now? The Democrats complained about the Patriot Act, but suddenly Obama wants to tap cell phones, control the Internet, bring back the Fairness Doctrine, and check everyone for bombs (except Muslims, of course. . . we don't want to offend anybody) at the airport. Why?

National Security, for the Democrats, is no longer about security - now everything they do is about making Americans submit to the process, teaching us to submit to the government, show us what it is like to live under a police state. . . make it so bad that when they draw back and then hammer us with all of the other stuff, they'll say something along the lines of, "Hey, it could be worse, we could always go back to the TSA screening madness!!!"

Creeping Incrementalism on steroids. Obama is fundamentally changing America as promised, and it is a nightmare. . . hmmmm, no wonder the Democrats lost so badly last November 2nd!

Pay Freeze for Federal Workers Symbolic, Does Not Technically Freeze Their Pay

President Barack Obama has announced in order to fight the deficit, he is proposing a two-year freeze of the salaries of some 2 million federal workers.

That's like a person racking up thousands of dollars of credit card debt, then offering sixty cents to help get it under control.

Besides, the freeze is not a freeze. It's political posturing, and a symbolic move to make it look like the federal workers, who make double what their civilian counterparts make in many cases, and of late are not real popular with voters, are chipping in to clean up the mess.

Typical politicians. They spend like drunken sailors, then promise to fix the mess with fixes that won't work, and acting as though they have no idea why the mess exists in the first place. . . my apologies to drunken sailors - I didn't mean to insult you comparing you to Democrats.

"Small businesses and families are tightening their belts," Obama said in brief remarks at the White House. "The government should, too."

Okay, clown in chief, cut your own pay, kill the benefits packages for your cohorts, and reduce spending. . . oh, wait, they'd never do that. They'd rather take it from the tax payers, and now the government workers.

The plan was designed to save more than $5 billion over the first two years. And how many trillions of dollars are we in debt?

I have an idea. How about cutting unnecessary positions, and then reduce spending 10% across the board, and then after that eliminate things like sending federal money to teach Africans to clean their penises, buying new stoves for everyone in Nigeria, and however many billions you send to the enemy (Hamas, Hezbollah, Palestinian Authority) in the guise of aid when you know, and I know, our aid to them is spent on weapons to kill Americans and Israelis, while their people continue to starve!

Obama's move was an attempt to get in front of Republican plans to slash federal pay and the workforce next year, when they will flex more legislative muscle than now. It came a day ahead of Obama's meeting at the White House with both Republicans and Democratic leaders — his first with Republicans since the midterm elections — and two days before the deadline for recommendations by his deficit-reduction commission.

The freeze, if passed by Congress, would take effect on January 1. Without congressional action, federal employees would automatically get a 0.9 percent increase under the formula set by a 1990 law. They received a 1.9 percent pay increase this year.

Understand what they are talking about freezing is the cost of living raises, and promotions to the next level. But this does not include "steps." Within each GS Rating there are steps, and the steps remain available, and will be just as lucrative, so the freeze does nothing anyway. It's a lie by the Democrats to make it look like they are doing something about the deficit that they expanded.

Also note that since Obama has taken office, more government employees make over $100,000 per year than ever before in history.

Nonetheless, Obama has pissed off one of his big allies, the unions. Symbolic, or not, they are angry he has turned on them, and are working toe derail the proposal in Congress.

Wow, this dude pisses everyone off!

That's right, I called the President of the United States "dude." I respect the office, but I have no respect for the Idiot in Chief.

By the way, just to show how much our government has been expanding, the federal government is the nation's largest employer, with about 2 million employees.
