What Do You Do When You Need A Hero But There Is Not One Around?

America needs heroes. And we need them badly. In the 1984 Bonnie Tyler, on the subject of needing a hero opined, “Where have all the good men gone?” Sadly, there is not hero for America coming. Not in 2012 anyway. America will have to wait. Even sadder than that though is that it may not be able to.
The Republican slate of contenders are desperately, and rightfully might I add, vying for the privilege of trying to unseat President Obama and his vile, failed ideology of class warfare, anti-Americanism and Marxism. As the only other major party that has proven capable of fielding a candidate who can get more than a few percent nationally in a Presidential Election they are, like it or not, where anyone who is going to bring down Obama is going to come from. But no matter how much the pundits tell us how “great” the choices are among the GOP field and how “happy” we should be with any of them as potential choices, the reality remains the same. There is no, “white knight upon a fiery steed” among them to save us.
And this is not an issue of whether or not a candidate is “perfect” or not. Only fools seek perfection. It is merely an issue of who these men are. And who are they? They an assortment of liberals, barely right leaning moderates and one very, very dangerous crackpot.
Months ago I started to try at least inform people as to actual track records of their chosen candidate among the GOP field. Most people were not, however, willing to take off their rose-colored glasses. Some were. But most people simply were not. Arguments have ensued and people are obviously unwilling to see the warts on the nose of their chosen challenger to the President. Of course, every one of the still standing GOP candidates for President is “better than Obama.” That hollow argument seems to be the final one. It comes up any time the facts get presented and the blind partisans, who now loathe me for staining the pristine veneer they have coated their candidate in, and is thrown out there to justify their stance. But the paper weight on my desk would be a better President than Mr. Obama as would the empty soup can my co-worker threw in the trash after lunch today. I certainly would not vote for either of those two items though if given the choice.
The car that is America is no longer careening towards the cliff. It is now through the guardrail and hangs suspended in mid air waiting only for the force of gravity to overcome momentum and pull it down like the Wile E. Coyote after chasing the Road Runner. Think I exaggerate? Look at the facts.
America has a debt to GDP ratio of over one-hundred percent. We have hundreds of judges on the bench without a care for the Constitution and who no one is willing to impeach for their ineptitude. We have a level of government spending that, if brought back to reality as it should be, would strip a trillion dollars out of the economy and cause pain that would make the Great Recession look like a holiday at the beach. We have a dependency class that stands around with its collective hand out demanding what they have been promised no matter how much, for what or for any care for whether or not those promises were sane. We have a population of senior citizens who have been promised the moon and the stars while the government squandered their mandatory retirement contributions for its own benefits. We have looters in the street who threaten to take what they believe should be theirs despite never having worked to obtain those things. We have a crushing number of nonsensical laws that do everything they can to limit the freedom of the people; from telling us what type of light bulbs we must use to how many gallons of water our toilet must flush. We have obvious voter fraud and intimidation that is shoveled under the rug and ignored because it benefits those in power.
Depressed yet? Well, if you are looking for that hero among the remaining GOP candidates that would solve these problems, you should be. Oh sure, they might make minor strides in correcting some minor parts of the problem. They may nibble around the edges. But the car, I might remind you, is already off the cliff. None of them are fantastic enough to fly to the rescue and stop the pending crash like Superman might. The inevitable crash is coming. It is coming because even the solution to the problem at this point, which is to drastically cut spending, live within our means as a nation and cut out all the unconstitutional spending, will still cause us to fall to Earth. Such an option would strip the out of the economy the trillion phony dollars being pumped into it every year. Millions of people have staked their future on those fake dollars being borrowed from America 's grandchildren. They will never let that money go without it being pried from their cold, dead, greedy hands.
Now, I said that there was no hero to be found among the Republican candidates. But the truth is that there is somewhere else to look. Too many put their faith in other people. They lazily look to others to provide for them or solve problems. It is a side effect of a trend that has taught that the State is superior to the People.
In fact, no member of the State can be a hero because those slovenly sorts are inherently inferior to the might and strength of the People at large. It is why the Constitution starts with the words, “We the People” and not “We the State”, “We the Bureaucrats” or “We the Politicians”. Even our founding fathers understood that Government does not save us. Thus it is only possible for the People to save America ; to rise up and be the collective hero that America needs.
The People must say that we will no longer tolerate corruption where government pays bribes to political campaign contributors and favorite sons. The People must no longer accept a government that does whatever it wants, whenever it wants without regard for the rule of law. The People must no longer allow the Representatives they elect to Congress to get away with being a modern day Judas simply because he or she throws a few pieces of silver back in their direction as payment for their fidelity. The People must unify and demand that our system of elections be secured from fraud and deceit. The People must drag our “leaders” kicking and screaming to the right course.
Only when the People become a united front against the government will the hero that America needs arise. When the car crashes to the ground, the People must climb out of the wreckage and embrace freedom. The question is do enough Americans have it in themselves to accomplish this daunting task? I believe they do. I have not yet abandoned all hope. It might only be a faint hope, but it still burns.

Nut: Timothy Geithner on CNBC after the senior economics reporter Steve Liesman says, "You have proposed, $2.1 trillion dollars in gross revenues the president has through 2022 in the budget, and yet it seems like almost all the additional revenue is taken up with additional spending. Where is the real deficit reduction?"
GEITHNER: If you don't try to generate more revenues through tax reform, if you don't ask, you know, the most fortunate Americans to bear a slightly larger burden of the privilege of being an American, then you have to -- the only way to achieve fiscal sustainability is through unacceptably deep cuts in benefits for middle class seniors or unacceptably deep cuts in national security.
RUSH: If you don't ask the most fortunate Americans to bear the slightly larger burden of being an American? Are they planning on now putting a price on the privilege of being an American. I thought birth as an American or naturalizing as an American was all that was needed to be an American. These authoritarians have now taken the next step. Then again, do you remember when Vice President Joe Biden said it is our patriotic duty to pay more in taxes?
Nugget: Rush Limbaugh Listener last Thursday: Media Depresses You. . .
I just want to make a comment on the media on how it shapes our opinion and our mood. I went away to university this year, and when I went away from home I watched very little TV. I listened to your show online. I checked Drudge every now and then, but that's about it. I've noticed that since I stopped watching the news my mood has been better and I've been more optimistic about America and its future, and I'm quite happy with the Republican candidates because the media has not been able to depress me about them. So, if I had any advice to conservative America and the country as a whole, it would be to turn off the non-Fox media, as Ann Coulter calls it, because they are trying to depress you into thinking that conservatism is in the minority and that your candidates are crazy, but the truth is conservatism is the mainstream. And I remember you saying back in the Bush years when the media would never stop reporting bad news about the economy, "Just to turn it off, and you'll be happier," and I think that's great advice.

Jefferson: Religion is a State Issue
I explain to people that when Thomas Jefferson wrote in his letter to the Danbury Baptists that the must be a wall of separation between the church and state, what he meant was not the anti-religious "Separation of Church and State" ideas of today's liberal left. He meant that religion was none of the federal government's business, and that the Danbury Baptists would have to take up their gripe with their State.

Recently I was a guest on the nationally syndicated radio show, News and Views and I was asked to comment about this chart and my thoughts on it. What came immediately to mind were the comments by President Obama that the "United States is not like Greece." He is right about that, there is no country poised to bail us out when we get in to a default situation.
The list above was not chosen arbitrarily by the Senator. Spain, Portugal, Greece, Italy, and Ireland are all countries that either have defaulted or on the brink of doing so. Our per capita when it comes to debt is worse than all of them. The argument that the US has "far more resources and is much more robust" does not give cause for hope. The situation is nothing short of an economic crisis.
Recently on the Price of Business show I have interviewed a few experts on the budget crisis. Recently William Beach pointed out that the US is "beyond Europization" in terms of dependence on the government. It is at times like this that it would be wise for people to remember that the Obama administration has always been interested in creating crisis. After all, that is where "change" is best poised to take place. At some point Americans are going to have to be concerned that what the President is pursuing is not merely more debt but the environment necessary for him to achieve the change he really wishes to pursue. This is a government that has made a living off of chaos.

Feb. 24, 2012, Fairfax, VA—Americans for Limited Government President Bill Wilson today responded to recent data by the Senate Budget Committee showing the U.S. has a higher debt per capita than Greece and other troubled sovereigns in Europe:
"At more than $49,000 per person using the most recent data from the U.S. Treasury and Census, we have a higher debt per capita than any of the PIIGS nations. Elected officials and other central planners attempt to comfort themselves with the false notion that the debt never needs to be repaid. That this $15.4 trillion debt can continually be absorbed by an ever-expanding global financial system. So why worry?
"The larger the debt gets, because it is not being repaid and has actually increased every single year since 1957, the more of it needs to be refinanced over time. That eats a larger and larger share of the economy every year, diverting resources away from more productive facilities and into a useless paper trade. As bloated as international financial institutions have become, there will come a point when not even they can afford to lend us more money, as is already happening in Europe.
"While it is hard to say where that tipping point is, when it comes—not if, but when—we will be left with two choices: to repay the debt, or to default. To avoid a default, the only solution is to balance the budget now and begin paying the debt down.
"This will be a difficult transition for the economy, and to cope with it, it must be accompanied by measures to reduce the cost of doing business in America to attract investment and create jobs. That includes slashing the highest corporate tax rate in the developed world, undoing the burdensome regulatory regime in energy, the environment, health care, and labor, lifting restrictions on capital creation, and strengthening the dollar.

Obama's tax plan: Crony capitalism at its worst - Washington Examiner

Obama, and his cronies, are out to stop what has made America great. The Obama White House wants to shake the foundation of America, and drag it to Hell.
They claim they are in your corner, and it is the rich they hate. They claim they wish to close tax “loopholes,” because these tax rules allow the wealthy to get out of "paying their fair share." His goal to cut corporate "loopholes" claims the same goal they always claim - to soak the rich in search of "fairness," a policy that, by the way, has failed historically, every time it has been applied.
Besides, no matter how good he tries to make this all sound, in the end Obama eliminates these "loopholes" he talks about, while creating other opportunities specifically designed for his political buddies.
Earlier this week President Obama proposed reducing the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 28 percent.
Really?
Almost sounds like a conservative move, doesn't it?
Considering that the U.S. corporate tax rate has consistently been among the highest in the world, I've got no complaint on the surface, or at least I didn't until I began to truly analyze his plan. The high corporate rate has posed as a major obstacle to American businesses, creating roadblocks when it comes to American companies competing in the global economy.
The problem is, the President's good thing of cutting corporate tax rates isn't what he claims, nor is it so good for business.
The new policy singles out specific industries he has a problem with. You know, big oil, big insurance, small aircraft manufacturers, and of course any company that has proven to not be labor union friendly. Those companies get a close of any "loophole" and despite a rate drop, their taxes go up. Yet, at the same time, his buddies get a tax rate cut to 25%.
How?
Obama's tax incentives encourage "investment in clean energy." The industries that play ball like he wants them to gets tax reform and a free pass, and those that don't play ball get slammed for refusing to do as Obama demands.
Sounds like the trappings of a dictator, doesn't it?
Obama is picking winners, and is giving breaks to those he approves of, while penalizing those he doesn't. In Britain during the time of the American Revolution, this was called "mercantilism." Mercantilism was one of the concepts we fought the Revolution over to get away from.
The liberal democrat plan to make us competitive, however, has all kinds of its own "loopholes," designed to increase taxes on the wealthier in the end, thus penalizing the producers, and ultimately making the American economy weaker.
Companies that dare go abroad with their business, because the obstacles in the U.S. have made it unreasonable to do business here, also will be hammered with punitive taxation. Corporations doing business outside the United States already are taxed by the foreign government, and then are taxed again here as they connect to their Stateside operations. Obama's plan works to tax foreign earnings even more heavily. This is his way of stopping companies from outsourcing around the world. Rather than improving the conditions here at home, to lure them back, he would rather smack them heavier for daring to go against his wishes.
What will this do?
In the end, he is worsening the problem, because the companies will then end all dealings with American consumers. They will shut down all ties to the States, and sell to the highest foreign offer. In the end, the companies take away all business done in the United States, taking away all domestic taxation, and will ultimately become foreign corporations where all of their profits will be subject to taxation everywhere but here. In the end, the revenue Obama claims this plan will create ends up lost, and in the end that revenue the federal government claims they will reap will be reduced with the loss of these corporations. And that is not even considering the negative economic impact to the U.S. when this country loses their business in the States. The impact on our financial system is devastating.
To make up for this, of course, the democrats won't see the error of the ways, and the taxes domestically will rise.
Of course, Obama isn't finished dragging America's economy to Hell at that point, either. He wants to raise corporate taxes on the Internet, too. He is proposing a tripling of the dividend tax rate, and the net effect is likely to raise the hurdle rate on business investment, which means less business investment. Less investment means labor productivity growth slows, and so wage growth slows. In other words, the President would leave American companies less competitive, and he would leave American workers with lower wages.
And Obama and friends calls this "tax reform," and claims he's doing what the republicans would do too, to lure in all approval. But it isn't "reform." What he proposes is an increase in government control, and an increase in the level of mercantilism.
The fact is that the U.S. corporate tax rate is too high. Straight cuts in taxation, and a reduction in regulations, is what will encourage growth. The federal government should pursue true corporate tax reform which includes reducing the corporate tax rate, and reducing the tax rate on small, non-corporate businesses as well. This will make U.S. companies more competitive around the world.
Enabling the growth of "individual" businesses by creating opportunity is how the American System works, and is what will bring us back from the brink. Obama's push will not only not bring us back from the brink, but will push us over the edge of the raging falls.
We need to be rowing away from the great waterfall of economic destruction, not putting an outboard engine in the water aiming us full throttle for the roar of destruction.
Obama's plan does not create growth, or a sense of fairness. It creates two classes of businesses: Those who get rewarded for playing ball with the government, and those that are punished for daring to refuse to.

A former Navy chaplain who was forced out of the service for praying publicly in Jesus' name while in uniform says the Obama administration is clearly trying to censor military chaplains who dare to speak out against the pro-abortion and pro-homosexual agenda.
The Obama White House opened a can of worms last week when it issued an edict requiring Catholic-affiliated agencies to provide medical coverage for employees' contraceptives and abortions. The controversy moved to the military when Catholic Army chaplains were ordered not to read a letter telling parishioners that the Catholic Church "cannot and will not comply with this unjust law."
Gordon Klingenschmitt, a former Navy chaplain who now runs The Pray In Jesus' Name Project, further details how the mandate is affecting the military.
"The secretary of the Army said you have to line out some of the language, or else we're going to charge the chaplains with sedition and treason for opposing the Obama administration," he reports. "Can you believe this? They are actually threatening chaplains with court-martial if they dare to preach against sin in their own church."

Answering Calls for Forcefully Removing Obama From The White House
I have been in an Email exchange between a friend of mine, and her friend who is a bit radical in her approach to removing Obama from office. The exchange is as follows, with today's final response by me at the end. . .

Her Questions: What would happen if there was a revolt by the people to take obama and biden out forcibly? Is this a Constitutional issue? Would this cause anarchy? It is my understanding that the Military can't use force on obama and biden, either. He won't be impeached.

Her Response: I agree, violence should be the last resort, but, it could come down to that, Doug. If he is re-elected, I have no doubt it will happen. I'm just being realistic based on what I hear other's say. The majority of the people in this country don't like the direction we are taking and are fearful that, if obama is re-elected, our Republic will no longer be a Constitution-based country, but, another pre-Revolutionary Great Britain or worse. I hope we can settle this in a non-violent manner, also. But, we love our guns, Republic and Constitution and that's what the driving force will be. Remember Lexington, MA.

Her Friend's Response: I'm really shocked at his response, and a bit unsettled. It is my understanding (and I did take a semester of Constitutional law in law school) that an illegal usurper cannot be impeached, Jane. That is reserved for LEGAL leaders (presidents and others in high positions). The Constitution gave us, "the people", the absolute authority to get rid of any entity that is an enemy to our country -- foreign and domestic.
Even IF your guy thinks he can be impeached . . . and that would "stoop us down to his level", so what? I'd rather be lowered in level than watch my country die!!! Also, who cares if Biden would be next. He was likely chosen by Ovomit simply because he's mindless. There's no way he would win an election. And, who knows, maybe someone could bully him into at least pretending to be a leader until the elections.
Are you sure this guy is an authority on the Constitution? I'm so freaked out right now. I believe we should march on DC at the earliest time we can!!! Ovomit is supposedly 85% finished with our destruction. Every minute counts! In another month, we won't have a country to defend!

My final response. . .
Taking Constitutional Law in Law School did not teach you about the Constitution. It taught you what a bunch of judges think the Constitution says. You would have been better off never taking the course, in my opinion. The Constitution is not defined by case law, but by the original intent of the writers.
As for the idea that as a people we should storm the White House and forcefully remove the Usurper in Chief currently occupying the Presidency is both dangerous and irresponsible. We are a republic, not a democracy, which means this is not a nation governed by mob rule. It is our responsibility to affect government through our representatives, and the processes authorized by the U.S. Constitution. Your view that we should take up arms and use violence against the offending members of the U.S. Government right now is extreme, but my refusal to buy into it does not mean I embrace the opposite extreme, either.
As for the idea that as a people we should storm the White House and forcefully remove the Usurper in Chief currently occupying the Presidency is both dangerous and irresponsible. We are a republic, not a democracy, which means this is not a nation governed by mob rule. It is our responsibility to affect government through our representatives, and the processes authorized by the U.S. Constitution. Your view that we should take up arms and use violence against the offending members of the U.S. Government right now is extreme, but my refusal to buy into it does not mean I embrace the opposite extreme, either.
Our nation's independence was achieved by the spilling of blood in a violent revolution and it may come to the point that a bloody conflict will be the only means to take back this country from the Marxists that currently occupy the halls of government. Our right to bear arms is predacated on the concept that if the federal government should become tyrannical we the people would be able to take it back by force should such an eventuality become necessary. But such violent actions are a last resort, and we have not reached the point where such actions are necessary. And to be perfectly honest, Obama and gang are hoping for such an outburst. If a civilian militant operation was launched against the federal government the current group of liberal leftists would use it is an excuse to clamp down harder, make the voices of the states and Congress even more irrelevent, and tighten controls over our gun rights. Then, the hand of the people would be forced, and a violent conflict would ensue. It is my opinion that before such a scenario becomes inevitable, we should exhaust all other tools available to us first.
The American Revolution was not originally intended to be a war. The colonists hoped to come to a peaceful understanding with Britain, before taking military action. However, they also recognized the reality that bloodshed may be necessary. And the drive for independence remained fairly non-violent, with the exception of the act of spilling blood by British aggression in episodes like the Boston Massacre. In the end, however, the determination if the revolution was to be by peaceful means, or by military conflict, was not decided by the colonists, but by the British, when they came for our guns and ammunition in Concord, and were stopped short by a militia at Lexington Green. Even then, bloodshed was not intended by the colonists, but when a single shot rang out, and the itching fingers of the infantry pulled their triggers in response. At that point, the bloody revolution commenced.
I am a firm believer that the primary reason for the 2nd Amendment is to enable the populace to take up arms against the government, if necessary. Imagine how different history would be if the Germans had taken arms against Hitler before he confiscated them? The people exercising their right to bear arms in opposition to government can be dangerous, too. Look at the Russian Revolution, or the French Revolution. In an attempt to shed the shackles of tyranny, the people found themselves enslaved by a whole new kind of authoritarian madness. An armed revolution too early can be just as devastating as one carried out too late.
Knowing that a violent revolution should be our last resort, through the Constitution the Founding Fathers gave us three other avenues to utilize as well. They recognized the importance of the will of the people, but like every other part of our system, decided to divide the power of the people, too. This is not a country governed by the rule of man, but one that is designed to follow the rule of law. Contrary to the beliefs of the liberal left, the rule of law is not supposed to be based on the opinions of a bunch of judges, but upon authorities granted by the U.S. Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land. So, the people are free to demand that their government act in a certain way, but like the government they are supposed to follow the processes set forth by the Constitution.
The ways to take back America, in addition to a bloody revolution, are through peaceful revolution, nullification, and an Article V. Convention. The problem, however, is that the problems with government are not only at the federal level. Without some kind of control over our local governments, how do we expect nullification, or an Article V. Convention, to even be possible? If we can't even be involved locally, how do we expect to change things nationally?
That is where the peaceful revolution comes in.
The Tea Party Movement is an example of a way to conduct a peaceful revolution. The influence of the Tea Party in the 2010 mid-term election was phenomenal, not just at the national level, but locally as well. Nobody expected the movement to have such an impact. The landslide win by the GOP in that election, both nationally, and State-wide, was incredible. Once we get our States back in line, and we stop the bleeding at the federal level, then nullification and an Article V. Convention can be used.
The Constitution is the solution, if we just know how to use it.

Temecula Constitution Class: Immigration, Slavery, and Prohibitions to the Federal Government
Article I, Section 9, Clause 1 is obsolete, or so we are told. The clause addressed the Atlantic slave trade, and the migration of people into the United States. Slavery was abolished by Amendment 13 so the part of Article I, Section 9, Clause 1 that addresses slavery is obsolete. But is the part about migration still in force?
The Federal Government in Article I, Section 9 is also prohibited from doing certain things, and we will discuss them. . . such as Habeas Corpus, Bills of Attainder, and more.
