After stating that they planned to protest the funerals of the victims of the Tucson shooting where Congresswoman Giffords took a bullet to the head, the Westboro Baptists have decided not to conduct the protests after all.
They got the attention they wanted, so no need to show up, I suppose.
When I first heard about Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church group considering the protest, the radio program I was listening to stated it as follows: "A group of baptists from Kansas plan to protest. . . "
They call themselves "Westboro Baptists," but these freaks are hardly anything remotely close to "Baptists." Phelps, and gang, are Calvinists. And they are so vile, that most Christian groups oppose Westboro's theology and practice, believing it to be incompatible with traditional Christian teachings.
Westboro is a great example of how someone can claim to be one thing, and be something else entirely.
