TSA Satire Criminalized

Note: As a commenter has noted, Republicans were also behind this bill. The word "Democrats" in this text is a typo, it should read "liberals" and has been adjusted. Be aware that it doesn't matter who proposed the bill, I am about principles before party; and unfortunately the Republican Party has a number of liberals, and some not-so-liberal Republicans that fall prey to liberal policies. Bad language in a bill is exactly that, and opinions shouldn't alter based on who proposed it.

Tyrannies criminalize dissent. They demand that you don't criticize your government. That is how they maintain control, and quell resistance.

H.R. 3011, or the “Transportation Security Administration Authorization Act of 2011”, in Section 295, criminalizes unfavorable language, be it written or verbal, against the TSA. Reproduction of their logo is even something you can be prosecuted for if this House bill was to pass and become law.

Criticism of the government or its agencies is the whole point of the First Amendment. The Founding Fathers were referring to political speech when they included that clause in the Bill of Rights. Yet, if H.R. 3011 becomes law, it would be illegal to poke fun at the TSA or use its logo or even utter its name. There is not even an exception in the language of the bill for parody.

Well, I guess the political cartoonists will be heading for the pokey - if this unconstitutional piece of legislation becomes law.

Political satire, in other words, will become a punishable crime if this legislation is enacted.

The TSA is being granted the same kind of unconstitutional above-the-law powers that the IRS has. You dare say anything, or portray anything against them, and you are dust. . . with no due process.

Talk about the liberals doing whatever they can to protect their Gestapo operation.

Let me see now. We have a TSA that irradiates citizens with naked body scanners, TSA agents that shove their hands down the pants of old ladies and grade school kids, Muslim agents frisking nuns, and all this while they cower and refuse to check the obvious Muslims for fear of being singled out as being racist, or Islamophobic.
