Immediately after the Boston Marathon Bombing I speculated that Islamists were behind it. Alex Jones suggested it was a false flag, placing blame on some kind of government conspiracy. Nicholas Kristof at the New York Times wrote that the "Explosion is a reminder that ATF needs a director. Shame on Senate Republicans for blocking appointment." In other words, he is blaming the Senate Republicans for the attack. Other leftists have blamed "right-wing" extremists, some conservatives have said it might be some angry "occupy" group. Since the attack was on April 15, tax day, a Timothy McVeigh scenario is also being considered. Maybe it was a "weather underground" type group, or angry environmentalists. Perhaps, is the consideration of other pundits, it was just a lone wolf with mental problems - like the school and theater shooters we have tangled with, of late. Sheila Jackson Lee even went so far as to blame the bombing on the sequester.
We all have a knee-jerk accusation based on the devils we believe to be out there. One of us may be right, and it is possible none of us are right. Perhaps the motivation is nothing we expect.
Whatever, or whoever, is behind the Boston Marathon Bombing, on thing is for sure. . . it was an evil act of terrorism. The reality of it all is that we live in a dangerous world.
