While Terror "Chatter" Crescendos, Obama "Checks The Box"

by JASmius

I'm telling you, all he has to do to solve this problem, like every other, is give another "historic" speech.  Not a presser, but a speech.

And his audience is already paying rapt attention:

In the lead up to the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States, intelligence officials are seeing a significant rise in "chatter" among terror groups, The Washington Times reported.

On August 9th, a Twitter account listed as #AMessageFromISIStoUS shows a picture of the Old Republic Building in Chicago – located on North Michigan Avenue – with a person holding a piece of scrap paper with Arabic scrawled on it that translates as "soldiers of the Islamic state of Iraq and Syria will pass from here soon," WGN reported.

Another tweet shows someone holding a smart phone with a picture of the ISIS flag with the White House lit up at night in the background.

One tweet accompanying the pictures says: "we are in your state/ we are in your cities / we are in your streets. You are our goals anywhere." Another reads: "we are here #america near our #target :) sooooooooooooon."

The same twitter account also posted video of the beheading of American journalist James Foley, who is a graduate of Chicago’s Northwestern University.

Now, to be fair, does terror "chatter" always go up around 9/11?  Of course.  Does Benghazi ring any bells?  But in the current context, with ISIS on a blitzkrieg across the Middle East and openly challenging the United States to a "confrontation," the ISIS-centric chatter in particular takes on a much greater, and sinister, significance.

Particularly since it's more than just chatter:

The U.S. government is warning that a terrorist attack is imminent on the border between Texas and Mexico, according to the government watchdog group Judicial Watch.

The group said sources have told it the Mideast terrorist army ISIS is now operating in the Mexican city of Ciudad Juarez, the narcotics-trafficking center located just across the border from El Paso, Texas, and it is planning to attack the U.S. with car bombs or improvised explosive devices carried by vehicles.

Judicial Watch said high-level federal law enforcement, intelligence and other sources have confirmed that a warning bulletin for an imminent terrorist attack on the border was issued, and that agents for the Departments of Defense, Justice and Homeland Security have been put on alert and told to aggressively work all sources and potential leads.

One source told Judicial Watch intelligence officials “picked up radio talk and chatter” pointing to an attack on the border.

The source said both ISIS and al-Qaida were planning plots, and told Judicial Watch an attack “is coming very soon.”

Another source told the group the attack is so imminent the commanding general at the U.S. Army’s Ft. Bliss in El Paso is being briefed.
The reported threat from ISIS comes the day after President Obama acknowledged he has no strategy to deal with the terrorist army.

Reportedly ISIS's first "salvo" would be car- and truck bombs and other IEDs, doubtless escalating from there.

To where?, you may be wondering.  Well, this captured ISIS laptop provides some clues:

The laptop's contents turn out to be a treasure trove of documents that provide ideological justifications for jihadi organizations - and practical training on how to carry out the Islamic State's deadly campaigns. They include videos of Osama bin Laden, manuals on how to make bombs, instructions for stealing cars, and lessons on how to use disguises in order to avoid getting arrested while traveling from one jihadi hot spot to another.

But after hours upon hours of scrolling through the documents, it became clear that the ISIS laptop contains more than the typical propaganda and instruction manuals used by jihadists. The documents also suggest that the laptop's owner was teaching himself about the use of biological weaponry, in preparation for a potential attack that would have shocked the world....

The ISIS laptop contains a 19-page document in Arabic on how to develop biological weapons and how to weaponize the bubonic plague from infected animals.

"The advantage of biological weapons is that they do not cost a lot of money, while the human casualties can be huge," the document states. [emphasis added]

Remember that tsunami of diseased illegals that is, in fact, still pouring over our former southern border?  Does that ring a few more bells now?

Meanwhile, what is Fearless Leader's game plan?  Do you have to ask?:

Barack Obama gave a "check the box" speech before the Labor Day holiday to be "seen" talking about how the United States would respond to the threat posed by the Islamist State, but did not provide much in the way of substance, Republican political strategist Karl Rove told Fox News.

Obama held a news conference Thursday to report on the threat, where he said his administration didn't "have a strategy yet." White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest on Friday told MSNBC that the president was talking specifically about a plan involving possible U.S. strikes in Syria.

"I make of the news conference that it was a 'check the box.' It was, 'We're about ready to go into a long holiday. I need to go talk to the press. I need to be seen.' But, it really had little substance," Rove, former deputy chief of staff to President George W. Bush, told "America's Newsroom" on Friday.

Rove said Obama was saying, "Basically, I don't have a strategy to deal with ISIS in Syria," that he was "nowhere further on ISIL in Iraq" and wouldn't give "a definitive update on things," referring to an alternate name for the Islamic State group, formerly known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

The speech was "an appalling display of a lack of leadership on the part of the United States for our commander in chief and chief executive," Rove said, adding that the president's strategy was more reactive than active.

No, Karl, it is an appalling display of anti-American leadership on the part of Barack Hussein Obama.  He couldn't have been any clearer about his position and his allegiance if he had come out in all-black, wearing a turban, and beheaded every reporter in the White House press room with a rusty butter knife.  It's as I've been saying for weeks now: Barack Obama does not want to fight, and has no intention of doing anything to even slow down the advance of, the Islamic State.  Both because he absolutely will never, ever admit that he was completely, disastrously, catastrophically wrong about Iraq, the War On Terror, and the entire Middle East and that George W. Bush was 100% right - which taking on the Islamic State would explicitly and humiliatingly concede - and he is explicitly, unequivocally pro-jihadist.  And now he's run out of room in which to feign opposition and resistance to their rise and advance.  So he's punting.  Voting present.

Checking the box.

The rest of us will get toe tags - if we're lucky.
