I tell you, ladies and gentlemen, it's like Eric "The Red" Holder never left:
The Justice Department is launching a federal civil rights probe of the entire police department in Baltimore, where recent events have "given rise to a serious erosion of public trust, Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced today.
"This investigation will begin immediately, and will focus on allegations that Baltimore Police Department officers use excessive force, including deadly force; conduct unlawful searches, seizures and arrests; and engage in discriminatory policing," said Lynch, during her first news conference as head of the Justice Department. "We will ... examine whether they violated the Constitution and the community’s civil rights."
When talking about the overall situation in Baltimore, Lynch described a "fractured trust" between police and communities as "an understatement."
I don't know 'bout y'all, but I'm noticing a pattern afoot: Black suspect breaks the law; law enforcement attempts to enforce the law against black suspect; black suspect resists law enforcement violently; law enforcement attempts to subdue black suspect; black suspect is injured or killed in the struggle; the Black Klan exploits the incident to launch insurrectionary violence; leftwingnut racist local, State, and federal authorities declare war on law enforcement.
It's almost like the Black Klan and its false messiah are desperate to incite a coast-to-coast race war or something.
Mr. Gibbs said it well yesterday:
Violence by design. Ferguson. Baltimore. Garland. History shows us that the way to conquer is to divide, to set groups against each other, and to crumble the foundation of society from within. All of the tools are in place. After more than a century of merciless onslaught by the radical left, they are ready to shove into place the final elements needed to destroy the American System, and erect a system in their own image that the Founding Fathers would have never approved of, and actively warned against.
Looks like Double-L is making herself right at home.
UPDATE: Priorities:
The White House sent Cabinet [Commissar] Broderick Johnson, chair of the Obama administration’s My Brother’s Keeper Task Force; Heather Foster, an adviser in the White House Office of Public Engagement; and Elias Alcantara from the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs [to the funeral of the late drug-dealer Freddie Gray].
Gray also had a history of run-ins with the law. According to court documents CNN obtained, there were more than twenty criminal court cases in Maryland against Gray, and five of those cases were still active at the time of his death.
But the White House did not send any officials to Officer Brian Moore’s funeral today. New York 1 reported:
Thousands came out for Brian Moore’s wake yesterday on Long Island, including members of the community and police officers from across the country....
Moore’s commanding officer at the 105th precinct in Queens says Moore was a true hero.
“He was every commanding officer’s dream. If I had an army of Brian Moores, there’d be no crime in the city,” said Deputy Inspector Mike Coyle of the NYPD. “He could walk into a room, and his smile would turn your day around if you were having a bad day. A real crime fighter, a true believer, a heart of gold.”
Well, The One has many times said that he would "help our friends and punish our enemies". But then America's "post-racial president" has never been unclear about which side he's on, and with which side he's at permanent war. Nobody should have expected anything more, anything less, or anything else.
