For politicians, the answers that drip from the mouths of members of the ruling elite to the questions that flop in front of them begging for their attention always seems to involve power and money. The participation of cities in organizations that are involved with snatching up private property without providing just compensation, often in the name of "environmentalism," or "sustainable development," is often accompanied with claims that the city will lose money if they don't bow down to the ruling elite masters in Washington, or the United Nations. In Murrieta, council members are arguing that it also involves contracts, and to bow out now would be to breach a contract.
I have wondered who that contract is truly with. . . WRCOG? The U.N.? The Devil?
To put across his point, the grand elitist of the Murrieta City Council in a 100,000+ population city tucked between Los Angeles and San Diego in Southern California decided to become quite colorful with his remarks, and local citizens that oppose his big government betrayal of the citizens of his city did not appreciate his remark.
In an attempt to speak allegorically, Councilman Rick Gibbs said, "Put a gun in your mouth, and hope nothing is in the chamber" in an attempt to illustrate what would happen if Murrieta dared to abandon being pawns of the statist overlords.
Politically, that was just stupid to say. Thank you, Councilman Gibbs, for once again confirming how I feel about your politics, and your lack of ability to properly represent the citizens of Murrieta.
