N.Y. Christian Farm Family Fined $13,000 For Declining To Host Gay Wedding

by JASmius

Also describable as being forcibly bent over and defining "property rights" down to the ankles:

A Christian couple that owns a family farm in New York is pushing back after the State fined them $13,000 for refusing to host a same-sex "wedding" on their property.

According to the Daily Signal, Cynthia and Robert Gifford — the owners of Liberty Ridge Farm in Albany — filed an appeal Thursday with the appellate division of the New York Supreme Court. The Giffords claim the court did not keep in mind their rights under the Constitution and their religious beliefs in making its decision to fine them.

What constitutional rights?  You're Christian pariahs, Mr. & Mrs. Gifford.  Remember?  You've been outlawed.  Only homosexuals and Muslims and minority groups have constitutional rights now.  The rest of us are just waiting for the cattle cars.

Which, ironically, their appeal will do a great deal to further illustrate.

You won't be surprised to learn that the Giffords were both set up and attacked by their lesbian assailants, in collusion with the leftwing extremist New York State government:

According to the appeal, Melisa McCarthy contacted the farm and eventually spoke with Cynthia Gifford about hosting her "wedding" with her female fiancee. Gifford said the family's religious beliefs prevented them from hosting the wedding ceremony at the farm, but that the couple was welcome to have its reception there. [emphasis added]

Is that not a significant accommodation?  Leave aside for a moment that these two carpet-munchers could have held their debauched "nuptials" just about anyplace, especially in a State as far-gone-communist as New York.  The Giffords were perfectly willing to host their "wedding" reception.  They weren't saying, "Screw you!"; they were simply saying that their religious conscience would not permit them to use their own private property for the effective recognition and veneration of an immoral, anti-biblical "ceremony".  "Live and let live and party here afterwards," in essence.

But the Giffords are Christians, which means their religious consciences are illegal and their property effectively belongs to the State and Melisa & friend.

And here's the punchline you knew was coming:

The phone call, according to the appeal, was secretly recorded by the lesbian couple, wh[ich] was apparently aware before [it] made the call that the Giffords did not host same-sex "weddings" on their property. [emphasis added]

The Giffords were deliberately targeted and assaulted for no other reason than their Christian faith.  An act of vicious persecution that could only have been worse by physically crucifying them.  And quite likely illegally, since secret recording of one side of a phone conversation is against the law in most States.

Again we go to Romans 1:26-32:

For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them. [emphases added]

And demand that those who do not give hearty approval do so, upon pain of fines, imprisonment, or worse.

Make no mistake about it, brothers and sisters, persecution is already here.  It just hasn't risen to the levels of the Islamic State.

Yet.
