North Korea Threatens Preemptive Invasion Of South Korea, Preemptive Nuclear Attack On U.S.

by JASmius

More of Kim Jong-Un's usual spittle-flecked bluster, or might this be the time he finally means it?:

North Korea on Tuesday lashed out at an upcoming joint U.S.-South Korean military exercise, warning it would attack the South and the U.S. mainland in case of any armed provocation.

The South and its close [?] U.S. ally will next month hold their largest-ever annual exercise in response to the North's recent nuclear test and long-range rocket launch, Seoul's defence ministry has announced.

The North's military supreme command said the allies planned to practise a "beheading operation" aimed at the North's leadership, and other moves to neutralise its nuclear weapons and missiles.

If there were even a "slight sign" of special forces moving to carry out such operations, the military said, "strategic and tactical" preemptive attacks would be launched.

The primary target would be the South's presidential Blue House, it said in a statement on the official news agency, condemning it as "the centre for hatching plots for confrontation with the fellow countrymen in the north, and reactionary ruling machines".

The North also threatened attacks on U.S. bases in the Asia-Pacific and the mainland.

Given that the NoKos vomit up this martial rhetoric every year when this annual military exercise takes place, it's a simple thing to dismiss it as standard Pyongyang posturing.  But let's not forget that all of our enemies have long since taken the traitorous measure of Barack Hussein Obama and feel much freer than ever before to try and press their luck with him.  Sure, Kim is setting the tripwire at U.S./ROK infiltration to take out North Korean nuclear installations, and sure, everybody on the planet knows The One would never order such an operation, but it's not like Kim is under any obligation to prove his allegations.  The only entity to which he is at all accountable is the neighboring ChiComms, and given that the NoKos serve Beijing as a good cop/bad cop geostrategic catspaw, they appear willing to tolerate anything Kim does.  And let's face it, even in the event that Pyongyang followed through on all of Kim's belligerent threats, and Seoul, Tokyo, Guam, Honolulu, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles were all reduced to irradiated ruins, Red China doesn't believe that Obama would retaliate any more than Kim - or you or I - do.  He'd sue for peace, even though he ordered no actions against the North, at that or any previous time.  Because Barack Obama doesn't start or fight or win wars; he "ends" them.  So the ChiComms would have nothing to fear from any possible U.S. conventional or nuclear retaliation.  And therefore, what reason do they have to pull back in Kim's reins?

This is a prime example of why we are in orders of magnitude more and greater danger today than we ever were during the Cold War.  Back then there were tens of thousands of nukes pointing in both directions, but that was also a credible deterrent against the Soviets (or ChiComms) trying and pressing their luck.  Today, thanks to the Obama Doctrine, we have no credible deterrent at all, and our nuclear-armed enemies are multiplying, both in number and brazenness.

One day very soon the heretofore "unthinkable" is going to happen....

....whether it's al Qaeda or ISIS or North Korea or Iran or the Sino-Russian Axis - or perhaps all of them at once.

Yeah, Kim's probably just blowing off steam.

Today, anyway.  But what about next time?
