Little Ava Isabella Stinson was born three months early, and her birth weight was 2 pounds. Her parents, Natalie Paquette and Richard Stinson, after finding that there was no room in the Ontario, Canada hospital due to a lack of beds (so much for that government-run healthcare system being so wonderful) after little Ava was born, transferred the infant by ambulance to a hospital in Buffalo, New York (helicopter service was down due to a storm).
Stinson, a self-pronounced atheist, had his belief system shaken by the miracle of survival by little Ava, and now prays to God for Ava. He said in a phone interview, "I was an atheist. Now I’m considering going to church and being a believer. There's got to be someone up there who's saving our little daughter."
Tuesday morning, after a prayer for Ava, he later learned their baby was taken off the ventilator the day before - it was enough to make him a believer.
She still has a long way to go, but the little baby is slowly showing progress, and is a miracle baby that shook the atheism right out of Richard Stinson.
