Assemblyman Joel Anderson's bill, AB 1506, will be heard. The bill allows the IOUs being issued by the State of California as a result of the State's budget problems may be used as payment or taxes and fees owed to the state.
AB 1506 will not only apply to businesses, but to individuals, cities, counties, hospitals, and other entities receiving an IOU from the State of California.
I am not sure if I like this bill or not, but I do believe that the IOU situation is something that could have been avoided if the state had reined in its spending, and cut taxes which would encourage economic growth.
