I rarely get the opportunity to listen to Rush Limbaugh. Leftists accuse me of parroting what Rush has to say all the time, but to be honest, when I write something along the lines of what Rush had to say, more often than not it is just a coincidence.
After all, great minds think alike.
Yesterday, however, I did have a short opportunity to listen to Rush on my way in from Los Angeles. Limbaugh was talking about Obama's speech that "The One" would be delivering to Congress about his health care program.
According to Rush, after Obama's speech the mainstream media would proclaim it to be his shining moment, and that Barack had single-handedly turned around the health care debate in his favor. They would praise what he had to say, and polls would erupt showing the magical shift in opinion.
Aside from an outburst from Representative Joe Wilson, a Republican from South Carolina, shouting "You lie!" when Obama claimed that the health care reforms he was proposing did not apply to illegal aliens, the speech went according to plan.
Personally, I was disappointed when Joe Wilson apologized.
Granted, I don't think he was apologizing for what he said, but for breaching protocol and good manners.
Obama's speech toned back a little on the Marxist influence regarding health care. The Democrats know the American People are wise to what they are doing, so they are trying to make the "public option" look as little like socialism as they can - by lying through their teeth. In an effort to reassure Americans that his proposal is not the "road to single payer" as most seem to see it as, Obama wanted to come out with that charm he used during his campaign for president.
To accomplish easing the minds of frightened Americans, Barry especially emphasized that his plan will not require you or your employer to change the coverage, or the doctor, you have.
This is where the Leftists miss it, and miss it huge. We who recognize the Leftism for what it is understand that nothing directly written into the plan will require anyone to change what they have in regards to coverage. That is not what people who oppose Obamacare are saying. The plan, people have realized, will force people to change their coverage not because of what is written on paper, but by the plan's very nature of being government run. Placing the government into the health insurance mix will make sure an elimination of the private industry happens down the road. Government health care kills the private sector, just ask the Europeans. Obama's health care plan is designed to set stringent standards for itself, and expect the private industry to follow suit, of which a profit-based system won't be able to do. Obamacare also cannot guarantee that people can keep their current coverage, not because the government will outlaw private coverage, or disallow people the choice to keep their coverage, but because employers that sponsor coverage for most families will be free to change their health plans in ways that workers may not like, or drop insurance altogether, in order to meet budget during these tough times. In other words, if an employer has the option to continue to pay for high costing benefit packages, or tell their employees "sorry, can't afford private health insurance anymore, but don't worry, now you have Obamacare available," what do you think an employer will do?
According to Fox News, the Congressional Budget Office, in fact, analyzed the health care bill written by House Democrats and said that by 2016 some 3 million people who now have employer-based care would lose it because their employers would decide to stop offering it. This is not even considering the 70% of people that would move over to Obamacare once it is in place - not because they don't like their current health insurance plans, but because they are going to have to pay for government health care in their taxes anyway (those who say we won't be eventually paying for this monster in our taxes is a liar, just like Obama is a liar when he says it won't add to the federal deficit), so why pay for everyone else's health care, and then continue to struggle paying for private health care, whose rates by then will be on the rise due to the government manipulation in the market, and will become unaffordable to everyone except the most wealthy Americans? It will be cheaper to carry just Obamacare, then to try to also carry private insurance - but in the long run the entire medical system will pay the price in quality, and the rationing of health care by bureaucrats in Washington who could care less if you live or die, as long as they meet their budget goals.
Are you noticing what government health care does? It divides us even more. Either you are super rich and can afford private insurance, or you have to settle for Obamacare. Government health care creates a greater divide between financial classes, and is yet another method of creating class warfare that will keep the Democrats in office. Think about it. Republicans will be determined to bring back the private system, but once everyone is addicted to Obamacare, people will vote for the Democrats to keep Obamacare in place. This, in turn, will force the GOP to campaign in support of keeping socialized medicine if they want to have a prayer of winning another election, and the frog in the boiling water becomes cooked just a little more.
In other words, Obama's speech to Congress said nothing different, except for Barack using a few softer words, and assurances that everything the opponents of his plan says is just a bunch of misinformation - even if he had to lie to do so.
By the time it was all over, the Democrats and press were falling over themselves in applause, slobbering all over themselves with love for "The One." And, as Rush Limbaugh predicted, the media proclaimed it to be Obama's shining moment, and polls were then cited as being evidence of a shift in opinion about government health care, just because the great Obama said a few words to ease everyone's fear.
Oh, how great is Obama! He shifted opinion in his favor with just a few words. If it had been a beer summit, they would have put a crown on his head.
But I agree that he is kind of like royalty. Obama is in fact the King of the Liars.
Hmmm, I wonder why he never mentioned the fact that Physicians are suing Obama for his health-care 'snitch' program that unlawfully collected information on political speech?
