ACORN, Obama's favorite Community Organizers who got caught giving tax advice to a couple they thought was a pimp and his hooker, have filed a lawsuit with the Brooklyn Federal Court. The lawsuit hopes to lift the funding ban of federal monies that went into effect in part because of the embarassing scandal they suffered at the hands of a couple of young filmmakers in which ACORN staffers were captured on camera at several offices nationwide advising the pair posing as a pimp and prostitute to hide their income.
The legal counsel for ACORN is arguing that the Community Organizer group's rights were violated by the cut in federal funding because the money was halted before the investigation into ACORN's activities was completed.
It is unconstitutional for the federal government to hand out money to individual groups like ACORN in the first place, so how could it be that their constitutional rights were violated by the funding being stopped if they weren't supposed to be getting the funding in the first place?
The lawyer for ACORN went on to say that "It's not the job of Congress to be the judge, jury and executioner."
Once again, looking to the U.S. Constitution, the Congressional purse strings can be pulled tight at any time by Congress should they see fit. Congress' decision to stop funding to an organization, of which it was unconstitutional to be giving money in the first place, is their call. If the lawyer, for argument's sake, was right and the job of Congress was not to stop funding, then who does he believe has that kind of decision? The courts?
Talk about a drive for a judicial oligarchy.
According to the suit, unless the ban is lifted, the Brooklyn-based office may soon be forced to lay off housing and loan counselors and staff.
I suppose they should have thought about that before engaging in illegal and unethical activities. . . which go way beyond the latest scandal, and all the way back to the election of Barack Obama.
