Senate Republicans, and a couple Democrats, banded together to block Barack Obama’s pick for the National Labor Relations Board, Craig Becker, 52-33.
The two Democrats, Blanche Lincoln and Ben Nelson, that joined the Republicans in the vote, drew criticism from fellow Democrats.
After Republicans held up Becker’s confirmation for months, the decision to block the appointment included the belief that Becker would push an aggressive union agenda at the agency.
