As a Christian Conservative, one of the attacks I receive often from Leftists are along the lines of "If you had your way you would keep women barefoot and pregnant and in the kitchen."
My usual response is, "If folks like me are sexists, then how is it that Sarah Palin is so popular among Conservatives?"
A strong woman with aspirations is no problem. My difficulty is when women decide that men are the enemy while they are at it - you know, like how the feminists think.
Nonetheless, Conservatism's biggest stars right now, despite Leftism's thinking that right wingers are a bunch of sexists, are Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann.
And now, these two women recently teamed up for a rollicking campaign rally.
Bachmann is running for a third term in the House of Representatives, and has been a loud voice of opposition against Barack Obama, calling him weak on national security for limiting when the United States can use nuclear weapons.
Palin has also made such a statement, and Obama's response was that Palin is not much of an expert on nuclear issues.
And a life-long community organizer like Barack Obama is? At least Palin has run something before (City Mayor, State Governor). I don't even think Obama has run a lemonade stand before, much less a business, or a governing body.
Sarah Palin has been travelling the country in support of conservative Republican candidates, and at the local convention center at a fundraiser for Bachmann, Palin raised the roof.
Both women have been embraced by "tea party" conservatives. The rally was a great example as to why the Tea Party folks love these ladies, since their speeches were lively assaults on Democrats in Congress and the White House, and keyed on fiscal conservatism and the U.S. Constitution.
Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty (R), was also present, and also had a lot to say about the current administration in Washington.
The crowd, with many holding Bachmann signs, appreciated Pawlenty's words, but had clearly come to see the two women, who appeared together for the first time.
Palin and Bachmann stepped onto the stage together, and when it was Palin's turn to take the lectern, she called Bachmann "inspiring."
Making fun of Democrats who have called Republicans "the party of no," Palin said: "Michele doesn't tell them no. She tells them h-e-l-l no."
Bachmann raised more than $1.5 million before the scheduled $10,000-a-plate fundraiser with Palin. Only four House Republicans have raised more.
