If the roles had been reversed, Ms. Sherrod would never work in anything again. But a black woman being racist against whites, apparently, deserves reconsideration.
Hmmm, I wonder if she joined the New Black Panthers and walked around with a club in her hand shouting racial slurs if it would get her off the hook completely?
Shirley Sherrod's comments that she didn't give a white farmer help because he's, uh, white, is being labled as racially tinged remarks.
Racism is racism is racism.
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack says before kicking her out of her position, he wants to learn more about what she said.
What is there to learn? It's on video, for God's sake!
I suppose Mr. Vilsack doesn't want to jump to any conclusions, since the offender is black, liberal, and a woman.
Now, if Sherrod had been a white, Republican male, Shirley would be dust.
Sherrod's remarks were delivered in March at a local NAACP banquet in Georgia. And she was applauded for her racism by the crowd.
But Mr. Vilsack wants to make sure nothing is being misunderstood.
