The Essence of Liberalism, and the Attack on Manliness

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Liberalism, in the context of today's politics, supports a system of big government, statism, and the expansion of the federal government so that the role of government regulates the lives of its citizens and the actions of the business entities it rules over (note the term "rules over" rather than "governs"). However, the word liberalism conjures up thoughts of only the members of the hard left. In truth, liberalism has infiltrated more crooks and crannies than merely the dark and murky corners of the Democrat Party. The thinking that is consistent with liberalism has made its way through the Republican Party as well. Perhaps the ideology is not as solidly set in the GOP Establishment as it is in the Democrat Party, but the presence of the belief that government should be all things to all people definitely exists among the high ranks of the Republican Party leadership.

The goal of liberalism is socialism. The goal of socialism is power. The people behind the ideology may claim that their goal is compassion, fairness, and equity, but a socialistic system always treats the "rulers" with power and riches, while leaving the masses in a homogeneous lump of misery. Conservatives believe compassion can be defined by how much opportunity citizens have to achieve more in their lives, and make their lives better through individual achievement, personal responsibility, and keeping more of what they make, rather than by the number of people who receive some kind of government aid.

The disease of liberalism feeds itself, and places itself, above all other things. The desire to push forward the leftist principles becomes more important than defending this nation, so leftist politicians support the progressive ideology of "peace through any means," cutting military budgets, refusing to recognize that laying down your arms does not bring peace when there are tyrants in the world. The desire to forward leftist principles is more important to these people than maintaining a prosperous economic system, so the leftists use Keynesian economics, and Saul Alinsky's tactics put forth in Rules for Radicals, to destroy the American Economy by crippling the financial system with excessive spending, and crippling the private sector by imposing heavy taxation and disabling regulations.

Liberalism denounces the Constitution as a frail and worthless document, reinterpreting the text of it in order to subvert it. Leftism views the Constitution as an obstacle, and that it should (and therefore it does according to them) grant all expansive powers to the federal government, rather than be a list of limitations. With a clever manipulation of words, liberals believe the Constitution can be used to approve virtually all government actions without involving the citizens at all. In fact, in a statement by the Democrats in a recent Email in regards to a class action suit, the liberals indicated that because of the Commerce Class and the General Welfare Clause they can do anything they want.

As the goal for power becomes, in the minds of the liberal left, more attainable, the safety of America, and protecting the values this nation was founded upon, becomes a lower priority. The limiting principles of the Constitution become more of a burden. Liberalism desires complete power, and therefore they must eliminate all competition. The conservatives, Tea Party folks, and Republicans must be demonized, discredited, and ultimately eliminated. The leftists do this by proclaiming their opposition to be bitter gun clingers, small minded Bible-thumpers, bigots, racists, and anything else they can pull out of the magician's hat (a method of censorship through ridicule).

Government must reign supreme, says the liberal. Government, they believe, is the solution. It is up to government to ensure the poor are fed, the homeless is housed, and the rich are forced to pay their fair share. Government is the most important thing in life, therefore even the competition of God must be eliminated.

With Freedom comes responsibility, but to the liberal the concept of freedom brings with it the danger of the presence of independently minded people. And with this ability to think independently, the citizen may be willing to place something else above government, such as the Worship of God. The government, according to the leftists, must be all things to all people. To be all things to all people the government must be your child's parent, your moral compass, and the all-seeing, all-knowing village sorcerer that has every answer to every concern you may have. To accomplish this, God must be eliminated, and the values of society must slowly be disintegrated through the teachings of relativism and pluralism.

The values the liberals hate are the very same values that Christians champion. The men of the Christian Faith believe they are spiritually responsible to be the spiritual leaders of their household. It is up to the men of the family unit to ensure the teachings of Christ are forwarded to the next generation, and that the good news of His sacrifice on the Cross on Calvary continues to be shared. Therefore, to stop God, the liberals have come to the conclusion that all they must do is stop men from being men. If men stop being men, they will stop being spiritual leaders, and the message of God will be stopped.

To stop men from being men, a many-pronged assault has been launched. Feminism has placed women on a militant path to take manhood down at the knees. Meanwhile, men are being given maternity leave, and metro-sexuals are walking around with mood rings, striving to locate their feminine side. Women want to be more like men, and men want to be more like women. But what really needs to happen is men need to man-up and grow a pair. Women need to quit asking men to be more like them.

Gender neutrality? Have we gone completely nuts?

Gender equality? We are different from each other. Men and women were created to be different, and the differences were given to us for a reason.

How did we get so screwed up? Did we check our common sense at the door, and forget to pick it back up on the way out?

Liberalism does not believe in anything higher than themselves, and the lust for power has led them to create warfare. Warfare between the classes, between the ethnicities, between the races, and between the genders. Confusion and class warfare allows the Socialists to step into power without us even caring. What do we care? We are too busy fighting with each other.

Through the process our dependency on government is literally making some lose faith in God, and place all of their cares in the arms of government. Human beings don't do very well without the limitations given to us by God. Without Faith, we have the tendency to sink to the lowest denominator, and then when all hell breaks loose we try to regulate our way back to morals by dictating through government what people can and can't do. Human Behavior is now being controlled by government, and society as a whole is sinking because we have decided to try to survive without God, without spirituality - and government control, and our dependency upon government programs, hinders us because humans need something to drive for, something to strive for to make ourselves better, to survive when everyone is just doing everything their own way.

Government is claiming that they pick us up when we screw up, to keep us afloat, and ensure equity. Society, however, cannot advance is that manner. We need to strive to be better, we need to strive to survive, and if we don't strive to achieve as individuals without the crutch of government, many of us will stay where we are, and eventually degrade and debase to the point of extinction.

Human Nature dictates we must have something to strive for, something that challenges us, teaches us to be better, and encourages us to achieve despite the storms of life. But now, we have become soft under government's tutelage, fearing those challenges, blaming our upbringing for our failures - we have stopped being what God created us to be.

We have stopped being spiritual leaders.

Men are born to be men. As little boys we prefer to play with masculine toys naturally. Feminism and liberalism has convinced mothers to make boys soft and sensitive and sweet. If a boy acts rambunctious we fill him with drugs to calm him down. If a boy draws a picture of a gun we suspend him from school. If a boy wants to play a rough sport, or ride motorcycles, society proclaims it is too dangerous for that poor little child. And the result is the metro-sexual, unGodly freak show that is rising in America.

And Liberalism is clasping its hands together, as it designs the road to socialism, watching the deterioration of societal values, and the deterioration of manliness, and says, "Right on schedule."
