Political rhetoric has always used fighting words - after all, it's a war out there. Faced with defeat last November, and another one looming on the horizon in 2012, the liberal progressive leftist commie bastards of the Democrat Party had to think fast.
The shooting of Congresswoman Giffords by Jared Loughner, they thought, gave them that opportunity.
The landscape has changed, and now the leftist Democrats have created a new atmosphere they call "civility." In this brave new world where healthy debate by the Left's opponents shall be met with forceful condemnation, the liberals have determined that for this to become a more civil place, the Right must abandon its conservative principles. The debate has now been declared a hate crime. Agree with the Left, or be marked as a violent anti-government extremist.
Palin has already been dubbed the leader of the hate-mongering Tea Party Rightwing Crazies that are apparently now guilty of anything and everything the liberals can't blame on man-made global warming.
The call for civility is in line with what the liberal left always does. The call for civility is censorship through ridicule and personal attacks. It is a call for the opponents of left wing extremism to shut up, and be shut down.
Playing nice, in the progressive liberal left's opinion, is "getting along with each other." That means that when the left puts out an agenda, everyone must either like it, or shut their pie holes.
Last November the American people voted out the Democrats because they have a problem with the Left's policies. The Democrats know it, so they had to find another way to force the Republicans to start caving on the liberal agenda. That is how they play the game. To be divisive is to disagree with the Left. Agree with their socialist platform, or be put down.
To be civil we are expected to look the other way as liberals destroy this country. It doesn't matter to them what the people want. It doesn't matter to these leftists that the November elections was a message to the Democrats to get the hell out of Washington. The truth is, on the issues and in the ballot box, the Democrats can't win except in the places where entitlement programs have made the people slaves to the Democrat Party, and therefore are shoe-in votes for the socialist left.
But why this tactic? Why has the liberal Democrats resorted to such underhanded strategies?
It's the Tea Party. The Tea Party in Washington, when it comes to the liberal left freak show, and the establishment Republicans, is the targeted enemy, and they wish to shut it down. They sense that through the Tea Party the political establishment is on its way down the road to more defeat. The political elite had to think fast, otherwise, the next election could be an even greater disaster for the establishment politicians.
The idea is for the left, be it through political rhetoric, the media, the White House, or even through GOP leadership, to control, if not silence, the Tea Party movement. The mission is to discredit, silence, and control the Tea Party movement. And as a result, the Tea Party has a fabulous opportunity here.
Principles. Tea Party. U.S. Constitution. As the war rages, the attacks simply encourage more people to getting behind people who are not afraid to advance the conservative principles of the Tea Party. This attack against America by the liberals will get more people involved. The simple truth is in the face of these hard left attacks, the Tea Party will refuse to be controlled, and refuse to be silenced. The voice will get louder, and the Tea Party will continue to be heard.
This is a republic. That is how republics work.
As expected, Palin was one of the first bigger names that wound up on the Left's hit list when this new strategy of political civility was launched. Fact is, she is irrationally despised by the political establishment, both Right and Left, in Washington. Democrats, and a good number of Republicans, hate her, despise her, fear her. That's because she has emerged as one of the leading voices of the Tea Party movement. Since the Tea Party is a huge threat to the establishment in Washington, so is Palin. The ruling class must do whatever it takes to squash their opposition, be it tainting the polls, lying about their positions, or going on the attack as they have with this call for "civility."
They must do all they can, the liberals have determined, to concentrate all their hate against the Right. They did it to George W. Bush in their "hate Bush" campaign, and they are doing it now with their attacks against their opposition after the Tucson shooting.
"Obama was wonderful! Palin was responsible!" is the rally cry.
In truth, it is all a sign of the Left's desperation. They are against the wall, and they know it. They are doing what they can to spread despair and pessimism against the Right, using the media to play on people's fears and weaknesses. These people hate the Tea Party, and they hate Palin, and as a result, they are obsessed with attacking both.
That is what they did to George W. Bush. The "hate Bush" campaign was so successful that even Republicans began to hate the man with spit-flinging fury.
That is what they did to Tom DeLay. Tom DeLay is headed to prison, convicted on a bogus money-laundering charge brought on by left-wing Democrat prosecutor Ronnie Earl. DeLay was tried in the most liberal county in Texas. The judge is a liberal Democrat.
That is what they did to Dan Quail. He was a rising star, with Kennedy-like charisma. The leftist liberals searched and searched and searched, until they finally got an "in". He misspelled "potato," and the Left pounced, destroying the man's political career over the mere misspelling of a word that, in truth, was misspelled by Quail simply because he was reading the card handed to him, and on that card the word was misspelled, and he didn't realize it until it was too late.
They tried to do it to Ronald Reagan, and that attacks against the two-term president of the eighties continues to this day.
That is what these leftists do. They are on the prowl, trying to do anything they can to destroy the opposition, because they can't win on the issues, they can't debate the issues, because they are on the wrong side of the issues. Their policies are failures, liberalism fails wherever it is tried, and so to stay in power they feel they have to take us down any way they can.
What happened to Bush, DeLay, Quail, and many others, is what they are trying to do to Palin, and the Tea Party. It is what they would do to all of us if they could.
And this is just the beginning. A "Sedition Act" may be on the horizon. They are waiting for the right moment, for the right crazy to do something stupid, the right opportunity to blame their opposition for some heinous crime, and shut the Tea Party up. . . forever.
