There are some that believe Obama is trying to destroy our economic system so that he may resurrect it as a socialist system. Others believe he is indeed destroying our system, but thinks he is doing it because he believes he is doing the right thing due to his idiotic belief in the failed Keynesian economic theory. I am not sure, to be honest, what Obama's motives are, but one thing is for sure; the President's actions are placing our American System at an extreme disadvantage.
Obama's failed policies are largely apparent when it comes to his energy policies, which are shared by the liberal Democrats.
Our compromised energy situation is being created by liberal policy, and a large portion of that is from the Obama administration itself. This administration is abandoning standard tried-and-true forms of energy production, and they are willing to replace it with unreliable green energy. The more we learn, the more we realize that Obama's energy plans are disastrous for America.
In California, the CFL light bulbs are beginning to show their true nature. Ignoring the mercury content of these bulbs, California liberals who are in line with Obama's way of thinking has been working to ban traditional incandescent bulbs faster than the federal government can. But, while working to make this a reality, the utility company "PG&E Corp." has realized that CFLs are not all they are cracked up to be. Apparently, to their amazement, the wave of the future doesn't work as well as originally touted. According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, PG&E’s $92 million rebate program for CFL usage during 2006-2008 saved 73% less energy than originally projected by PG&E:
"One hitch was the compact-fluorescent burnout rate. When PG&E began its 2006-2008 program, it figured the useful life of each bulb would be 9.4 years. Now, with experience, it has cut the estimate to 6.3 years, which limits the energy savings. Field tests show higher burnout rates in certain locations, such as bathrooms and in recessed lighting. Turning them on and off a lot also appears to impair longevity."
Just another reason the GOP-led House of Representatives needs to add the ban on incandescents to their list of liberal measures that needs to be repealed.
People don't even want to car pool anymore.
Meanwhile, New Mexico has declared a State of Emergency over a natural gas shortage. Thousands in New Mexico are without natural gas service. Why?
Apparently, former Governor Bill Richardson issued an executive order a while back that imposed a six-month moratorium on new oil and gas drilling in Santa Fe County and the Galisteo Basin. The idea of the liberal Democrat governor was to "ensure the health, safety and welfare of all New Mexicans and to protecting the natural and ecological riches of the state while supporting much needed economic development." As a result, the people in New Mexico are freezing to death because of a natural gas shortage. The thing is, there is no shortage of natural gas. The shortage is because of the moratorium. You know, the same kind of moratorium the village idiot in the White House has in place in the Gulf of Mexico.
New Mexico's current governor, Susana Martinez, now has declared a state of emergency, ordering government offices be shut down Friday and she has urged schools to 'strongly consider' remaining closed for the day, while urging residents to turn down their thermostats, bundle up and shut off appliances they don't need for the next 24 hours." Why? Because of the environmental swing against natural gas, and Richardson's moratorium.
At one point Texas was asking for electricity from Mexico too. Mexico, however, decided not to do it. They needed the electricity for themselves. You know, because it's damn cold right now.

So, why is there a shortage of electricity in Texas?
Obama’s blocking of new power plants may be a starting point when it comes to figuring out our energy troubles.
According to the Heritage Foundation, 103 permits in the Gulf of Mexico are being held up. These are permits to drill for oil. And of course the accompanying natural gas that goes along with it.
So everybody is cold from the man-made global warming myth, and there isn't enough energy to warm us up because the liberal left has been doing all they can to restrict energy usage through traditional sources. While Mr. Obama is planning to make commercial buildings twenty percent more energy efficient by 2020, what he doesn't tell you is that energy will be in short supply, expensive, and he wants to put the federal government in charge of the thermostats. That way, it won't be up to you. It'll be up to some faceless bureaucrat in Washington on how often you will be sweating to death or freezing to death.
Hence, a good reason why the Founding Fathers never gave the federal government any authority over energy sources in the first place.
