Oprah Winfrey, the media goddess herself, has made a plea to America. "The presidency holds a sense of authority and governance over us all. Even if you’re not in support of his policies, there needs to be a certain level of respect."
The office of the presidency has never been disrespected by Obama's opposition. It is the policies and unconstitutional actions of the President that are being criticized.
Oh, and I take issue with her "presidency holds authority over us all" comment. The president is a servant, not a ruler. It is his job to uphold the Constitution, and protect and preserve the union. That's it.
I wonder, however, if Oprah was so concerned about respect for the president while George W. Bush was in office. Did she respect Bush? Did the vicious liberal attacks against Bush concern Oprah?
I doubt it.
