Burn Bible, Not Koran?

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Are these people nuts? First we have the first president in American history to turn his back on Israel. Now we have an obviously non-Christian Time Magazine World editor Bobby Ghosh trying to claim that burning a copy of the Koran is much more inflammatory than burning a Bible.

His theory?

GHOSH: The thing to keep in mind that`s very important here is that the Koran to Muslims, it is not — it is not the same as the Bible to Christians.
The Bible is a book written by men. It is acknowledged by Christians that it is written by men. It`s the story of Jesus.
TODD: Yes.
GHOSH: But the Koran, if you are a believer, if you`re a Muslim, the Koran is directly the word of God, not written by man. It is transcribed, is directly the word of God.
That makes it sacred in a way that it`s hard to understand if you`re not Muslim. So the act of burning a Koran is much more — potentially much, much more inflammatory than –
TODD: Directly attacking — directly attacking God.
GHOSH: — than if you were to burn a — burn a Bible.
TODD: Directly attacking God.

So the Bible is not the Word of God? It was written by 44 men through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, but according to Mr. Ghosh, its just a book written by a bunch of men. Hmm, if they were a bunch of unassociated men, the inerrancy would be impossible. As for his "it's a story of Jesus" comment, I suppose other than the Gospels, the rest of the Bible doesn't exist to him.

Do you see what this idiot is doing? He is placing an ideology that believes in forcing its beliefs through violence over Judaism and Christianity, which are the foundation of our entire system of government.

And he is using a divisive strategy that liberals are so good at using.

Sort of like when Obama called the Tea Party racist.

The cause of the discussion?

Riots in Afganistan.

We are being told that the protests in Afghanistan are over the burning of the Koran by a preacher in Florida. Did you know about the burning before the riots erupted?

Most people didn't.

And I guarantee that at first, neither did the protesters in Afghanistan.

The burning of the Koran happened two weeks ago. The riots began four days ago. Either the protesters have a delayed reaction, or the burning of the Koran was made the excuse at the last minute.

Do they burn Bibles?

Sure they do. Hell, they burn Korans too! The Muslims, blowing each others mosques up in their wars, burn up Korans.

Funny, the media didn't get all up in arms about burning holy books when the U.S. Pentagon authorized the burning of Bibles in Afghanistan in 2009 because they didn't want to offend the locals.

We bent over backwards and burned our own holy book to make these people happy, then they riot for whatever reason, and then try to lay it on a single nutty preacher in Florida. And then what is worse, is that the left is cringing. "See, we shouldn't be so insensitive," the Left cries out.

Doesn't the Muslim rioting kind of spell out who the crazy people really are?

Oh, and that nutty American preacher? Terry Jones plans to put Mohammad on trial, next.

I wonder what kind of violent riots by the religion of peace will break out then?
