Caught With An Open Mic: Obama's Smug Arrogance

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The liberal left is all about smoke and mirrors. The strategy has always been to be careful not to reveal who they really are. Promise one thing, deliver another. Never allow it to appear that they are supporting socialism, or are socialists, and even attack the opposition for daring to suggest such a hateful thing, even though the liberal platform is indeed socialist in nature. Never deliver so much socialism that the American People discover the exact nature of the plan. Never openly say the truth, even though the true arrogance of the political elite is apparent among its members behind closed doors, when nobody is listening.

Or at least when they think nobody is listening.

Every once in a while, the microphone is left hot, and the true nature of the communist in the White House reveals itself.

It is when he thinks nobody outside his group of leftists is listening, that Obama reveals the arrogant, condescending, socialist that he truly is. That is when we really learn.

Understand, we don't need to catch him like this to know what he really thinks. The evidence is abound. Obama has surrounded himself with radicals, and his policies fall in lockstep with the Communist Manifesto. He fools nobody, or at least nobody on the Right willing to pay attention. But it is amazing the things people like Obama say when they think their opposition isn't listening, when the peasants are tucked away and can't hear what he really thinks in his elitist noggin.

Recently, as shown in the video above, Obama thought he was in a private discussion with some of the flock. They thought the event was over, and the prying ears of the outside world were gone. But the microphone was left hot.

OBAMA: I said, "You want to repeal health care? Go at it. We'll have that debate. You're not going to be able to do that by nickel-and-diming me in the budget. You think we're stupid?" We're happy to have the debate. We'll have the debate on the floor of the Senate or the floor of the House. Put it in a separate bill. We'll call it up -- and if you think you can overturn my veto, try it. But don't try to sneak this through.

Sound arrogant? He sounds like he thinks those that oppose him are helpless, doesn't he? And who's trying to sneak anything? The Republicans are being something that Obama doesn't understand: transparent. Their plan is out in the open. The GOP's goals are available for all to see. But Obama is amazed that the Republicans are tying to defund the $105 billion in the health care bill that implements it. The Republicans that got elected in 2010 ran on repealing Obamacare, and one of the ways to stop it is to defund it. There is no sneaking going on. Everybody knows what the GOP is up to.

Obama says he wants a debate. He thinks this is another precious rail that the GOP would not dare repeal. Obama thinks a few threats will get the Republicans to back down. They're scared. After all, look what happened with Boehner in this last debate? The budget is a joke, the spending cuts are drops of nothing when compared to the big picture. He made threats, and the Republicans flinched.

And what's this statement about him taunting the Right not to put their agenda in the budget? Obama's every move is an agenda. His hard left, communist agenda resonates through every word of every piece of leftist legislation he signs.

OBAMA: Let me tell you, that -- I -- I -- I -- I'm -- I'm grayer and, you know, I'm a little dinged up. I know there are times where some of you have felt frustrated because we've had t'compromise with the Republicans on some issues. There have been times people are frustrated 'cause we didn't get everything done in the first two years. There have been times where I felt the same way.

Steps. Get a little now, finish it later. Its a tactic I call "creeping incrementalism." And nobody has been able to stop these anti-American leftists, until now, and he's shrugging it off. Problem is, the Republicans are afraid. One mention of a government shutdown, or an accusation that the GOP is out to kill old people, and take away women's rights, and they flinch. That's why Donald Trump is so popular as a potential candidate. He is not afraid of these leftists. He is willing to say it like it is. He's not a politician.

Sure, Obama doesn't like having to use creeping incrementalism. He wants to fundamentally change America now, turn us into a socialist paradise, equipped with goon squads and brown shirts. Compromise now, control the masses later. That's the plan, and he's sure it'll work. His arrogance here is apparent. You mean nothing to Obama. You peasants don't understand, he thinks, and by the time you get it into your skulls, the leftists will already have forced it all upon you and it'll be too late.

The Tea Party is the unaccounted for variable. They hate the Tea Party, because they can't control it, and it doesn't have a leader they can get to.

OBAMA: We have gone through two-and-a-half of the most challenging years that we've seen since the Great Depression. Not only have we been able to stabilize the financial system and get the economy to grow again, not only have we now produced, uhhh, over, uhhh, 1.8 million jobs, uh, just, uh, in the last year, but what we've also been able to do is t'make this society a lot fairer, more competitive. We still have enormous challenges. I think I'm equipped, uhh, to help us, uhh, finish the job.

Nothing has worked, and yet he is taking credit. Credit for what? High gas prices? High unemployment? A deflated dollar? The jobs created are all government jobs. Government is expanding, and next will be tax increases, and rising energy costs. These gas prices are the nail in the coffin. It affects all aspects of the economy. The price to transport goods, and produce goods, is going up. The consumers are feeling it, and Obama doesn't care. He's saying it's all rosy, and he's the guy that fixed it all. But do you feel out of the woods? How do you feel about the economy after filling your tank?

Obama said, "What do they think we're stupid?" He's asking the Republicans. He's not worried. Sure, the November election surprised him, but the arrogant bastard thinks it's all situation normal. The agenda to fundamentally change America is still chugging away. He thinks 2012 belongs to him, too.

The smug arrogance is incredible. But such an attitude is common among leftists, until reality catches up. Then they sit there asking, "What the hell just happened? I don't understand."

2012, I am thinking, will be real confusing for the Democrats.
