Elisha Dawkins is a trusted Navy photographer who holds a top secret clearance, was trusted enough to photograph the events at Guantanamo Bay, and a man who served proudly in Iraq. Now, he is in jail for passport fraud. . . because of a simple misunderstanding.
In this country that demands pluralism when it comes to morality, there is no bending allowed when it comes to the strict interpretation of the rules. Common sense has gone out the window, and Dawkins is in jail because after beginning to fill out an application for a passport in 2004, and not completing it, on this year's application he checked that he'd never applied for a passport before. . . according to the government, the incomplete application counts, so Dawkins is in jail.
Runs right in line with the city officials shutting down kids' lemonade stands because they don't have a business license.
Have we gone completely mad?
